Ladies and Gentlemen, Season V of the Pokemon Showdown League has concluded and we have our first ever two time champion and his name is...
Season 5 Champion: FDS (Team Arctozolt)!

FDS has performed tremendously in every single tournament thus far and this season was no exception. Going undefeated in the B Block with impressive wins over Bob, Sheridan and Epic. He would then go 7-0 defeating Mikey in the finals in impressive fashion. This is FDS’ second championship reign and statistically it was an important tournament for the two time champ, grasping the most overall wins over the course of five tournaments and it being the first round robin tournament that FDS has ever gone undefeated in. With this victory FDS has gained the opportunity to choose his type for next season.

    Runner-Up: Mikey (Team Grimmsnarl)

Coming in a close second we have Season IV Champion Mikey. Mikey was able to select Grimmsnarl as the pokemon to build his team around and effectively built a team that was able to do extremely well in Block Competition. He would manage to get victories over previous season finalist opponent Meko for the second time and was also able to defeat the second place in A block Gwynfro in impressive fashion before falling to FDS in the finals. With this placement Mikey has secured his opportunity to pick his typing for next season and this marks his second time in the top four.

    Third Place: Bob (Team Dragapult)

For the second season in a row Bob finds himself in third after selecting Dragapult as his pokemon to build his team around. Bob had a rather impressive season in his own right only suffering one defeat to eventual tournament winner FDS. This continues a trend for Bob where he has consistently lost to only the eventual tournament winner. Bob would manage to get impressive victories over Sheridan and Epic in two very close battles. With this placement Bob has gained the opportunity to select his typing for next tournament and marks his second time in the top four.

    Fourth Place: Gwynfro (Team Dracozolt)

Coming into the fourth place and rounding out the top four is a first timer in Gwynfro. Gwyn has found himself in the top four for the first time after a very good performance. Gwynfro was assigned Dracozolt as his pokemon to build a team around and he did quite well given the random draw. He only lost the runner-up Mikey in the Block competition and managed impressive victories over Meko and Storm in great match ups. With this victory Gwyn for the first time in Five Tournaments finds himself in the top four and has guaranteed himself entry into next season's tournament and a reroll during type randomisation.

    Season 6 Update

With the conclusion of season 5 we now will be looking forward to season 6. This season will be a monotype round robin tournament and sign ups for this season will be opened within roughly two weeks. Four participants have already confirmed those being the top four of Season Five. As Usual you will be assigned a type and you will have to build a team around that type. The following Types will not be available:
    Rock (Selected By FDS)
    Psychic (Selected By Mikey)
    Fairy (Selected By Bob)
Finally, i’d like to thank you all for this season. While I understand there were a few issues throughout the season from the banning of Aegislash to the eviction of Addy to the departure of sheridan I am glad that we were able to get through this season successfully. I hope that next season we are able to get through without any issues and I am glad to see many are still excited for next season. Thank You all Very much.

Blade reacted to Sheridan in Sheridan's WrestleMania Tales
"The WWE has had multiple eras of greatness in it’s near 60-year history in sports entertainment. From its Golden Era in the 1960s with Bruno Sammartino, it’s Classic Era of the 1970s with Bob Backlund and “Superstar” Billy Graham, to the Rock N’ Wrestling Era of the 1980s, the WWE has transformed its image and vision with the times (although not always with the same success). But before the late 90s saw the rise of the Attitude Era in late 1997, and in the fall out of a steroid scandal and mass exodus of Rock N’ Wrestling main eventers to rival World Championship Wrestling (WCW), WWE’s New Generation – that ran from approximately 1992 to mid-1997 – is largely considered WWE’s low point. And for good reason. WCW was emerging as a more traditional wrestling powerhouse with Ted Turner pouring money into signing WWF’s most recognisable stars like Hulk Hogan, “Macho Man” Randy Savage, “Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase, and more, and ratings for WWF programming were on the brink of collapse. But in order to keep the machine oiled and going, the WWF had to rebuild from the bottom up."

    [ taken from: https://lastwordonprowrestling.com/2019/05/04/the-lost-new-generation-wwf/ ]

In correlation to real life, I will be transitioning through the 'New Generation' era within my save. This is a period which due to the steroid scandal of 1992 the figureheads and main event talents of the WWF, for the most part, either retired, departed to Hollywood or went elsewhere. Vince McMahon's hand was forced to create new talent consisting of younger and smaller guys to deflect negative attention that the scandal was smearing over the business. Names Hogan, Savage and Piper will be transitioning out of the main event scene over the next year or two to make way for this new era, this new generation. I thought it'd be a good idea to speak through my thoughts on how I'll be capable of achieving this in TEW as booking and promoting wrestlers is a different battlefield to how it is in real life.

The first point to tackle is who'll replace Hulk Hogan as the figurehead, the franchise player, of the WWF. For me this has to be someone who's been with the promotion for a while and can realistically slide into the WWF Championship picture for long periods of time over the next five years. They'll need to be an upper midcard to main event talent as I don't want to shoehorn a rookie into the role. For me, and in real life, that came down to two people in Bret 'The Hitman' Hart and Shawn Michaels. Both are excellent in-ring and both have the charisma and promo capabilities to do it. I'm leaning towards Bret Hart, as I could see him portraying a face more-so over the next five years with Michaels being his foil. However over the next 12 months I see Michaels performing well, due to him being the current WWF Intercontinental champion. This is something that isn't clear cut, to me. Right now Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels are the only two members of my main event scene who fall under the age of 35, with Michaels being 26 and Hart 33.

Next up, we need to figure out how to slide midcard talent into the main event. Over the course of the next year, we'll be losing people like Roddy Piper, Hulk Hogan and Randy Savage from the main event scene of the promotion as a whole. So, we have to turn to the younger generation and evaluate who'll be capable of sliding into the main event. Gino Hernandez for me is someone who's performed exceptionally since coming in. He was involved in the first '100' match alongside The Brainbusters, facing off against the faces of the Golden Age era before him. I think he'll act as a great foil to either Bret Hart or Shawn Michaels over the coming years, and switch between competing for the WWF Championship and fighting for the WWF Intercontinental Championship, a belt I expect him to get a reign or two with. Mr. Perfect is someone who I could see becoming a WWF Championship holder over the next coming years as he's already had two reigns with the Intercontinental Championship. He floats between the midcard and main event scene for me now, but with the likes of the names I mentioned before leaving, as well as Ricky Steamboat and Ric Flair being in their 40s he could fill into the main event seamlessly. The Undertaker is someone who I've not pushed very hard outside of WrestleMania season, which I admit isn't good. But as we know from real life, he is an absolute cornerstone of WWF history. I need to work on using The Undertaker as a year-round character and stop thinking of him as being available three times out of a year. Yokozuna is the final person on this list. I have problems with Yokozuna as to score high ratings in TEW it's essential you can work long matches, from the 18 minute to 25 minute mark. Yokozuna isn't capable of this. I would like to make Yokozuna a WWF champion and have him in the main event of a future WrestleMania, but his fitness issues are making it a struggle.

Sid Justice is a dark horse within the WWF. He was supposed to face Jake Roberts at WrestleMania but Jake's drug issues failed to bring that much into fruition. I'm unsure where Sid Justice will fit into the New Generation landscape. With new stars being made and new faces coming in, I would at this moment pinpoint him as the one who might not fit in and will have to be either underutilised or released. Real life partially plays into this. Sid came in, main evented a WrestleMania and was out the door the following year. Similar to the person below Sid Justice will be unpredictable, for me, over the coming years. I might shoehorn him into the Tag Team division for a while and plan what to do afterwards with him and evaluate if he can run with the big guns of the promotion.

Owen Hart in an alternative universe, could be and should be the face of the WWF. The save rates him highly, crediting him as being a Next Big Thing, above Shawn Michaels in that list meaning that potential wise, he could be the face of the promotion. I want to make sure that I don't miss the boat on Owen Hart, as if I get him right and his break-off from Bret Hart and Jim Neidhart he could be a superstar in his own right. Owen Hart has always been a tricky one in my mind, and figuring out how to push him and book him over the next three or so years will be essential in how the WWF midcard or main event scene looks. He could be a WWF champion, or a cornerstone of the Intercontinental division, or maybe even stick with Neidhart and become a face of the Tag Team division. I am unsure what to do with Owen Hart, he is an enigma, and could rank alongside the likes of Shawn Michaels or Gino Hernandez in the following years.

The goal of the New Generation is not just to create in-house stars from the midcard, but to also utilise talents misused or not signed who could become stars. For this I won't be doing anything drastic and will be targeting Diesel, Lex Luger and Razor Ramon, to come in and transform the roster before finding their peaks. Diesel is someone who could fizzle out in the midcard or become the face of the promotion depending on how he grows. He's quite old already and hasn't found much work in the mod so I'm unsure of how good his in-ring stats will become which, might be a hindrance. The case is similar for Lex Luger, who is the same age as Bret Hart, but doesn't have the in-ring prowess or the fortunes of being before national television each week. His pop isn't awful, but I don't see Lex Luger becoming a big deal and making waves in the promotion. Razor Ramon on the other hand, will. Pushed as a main event talent in JCP, he has NWA United States and NWA Heavyweight reigns galore. He joins the WWF with 81 popularity and incredible stats. Now I still have to phase out the old guard and promote the likes of Shawn Michaels and Mr. Perfect before him, but once Razor has settled in, I'd be confident of him finding much success.

So what'll happen to the old guard of the WWF? André the Giant is 46 at this point, working as an occasional wrestler. So he'll be retiring shortly. He still have incredible pop and isn't as far into decline as you might think but I personally don't want to suck the Giant dry of his popularity and want him to leave on a high. Hogan is someone who'll suffer a few more losses than he'd like to over the coming twelve months. I want to play hot potato with him and Ric Flair over the WWF Championship to boost the legacy he'll leave. I would expect WrestleMania IX to be Hogan's last competing for a championship. Jake Roberts has drug issues, so that one writes itself. It's a shame as I would have like to give Jake something more to add to his accolades but over the last year or two he's just succumb to drug issues time after time. Randy Savage is a difficult one. He isn't in decline, he can still go and to my knowledge when the steroid scandal hit he didn't leave the WWF, and just stopped performing in-ring. I don't want to utilise the Macho Man as a commentator, what a waste. I think out of the five Savage is the most likely to keep his job as an in-ring performer. Roddy Piper I can write off as going to Hollywood, as he's already done a movie in between WrestleMania VI and VII. I'd probably keep him on as a road agent or something, although due to him being on 100,000 a month we'd have to slug out a new contract with him.

Ric Flair is an anomaly, for he hasn't been with the WWF for long but fits into the quota, or an ageing or performance enhancing wrestler not fit to go against the New Generation. I've settled on the fact that I'll be keeping Flair around who, alongside Ricky Steamboat and Ted DiBiase, will be the veterans helping those in the midcard transition to the main event. For the next year I'd expect Flair to be pushed, hard, but afterwards depending on if he begins to decline, I'd expect him to begin transitioning to an occasional wrestler role and losing to the future stars of the WWF.

"Where do we go from here? When you hit that cross road of should you continue forward or should you stop which choice is the right to make.  But that question is harder to answer.  Things you must see is what has driven you to where you are now?  And does that drive still drive you forward to keep continuing on?"
Blade appears on the titantron of the latest addition of Carnage TV
Blade, "Well normally after being gone for a long time I would come back and say 'I am back!' but am I though? Mulling it over for a while now, I have been here for four years almost five in a few months. I have accomplished nearly everything I have wanted to do.  I wanted championships, and I have won almost every single one I have gone after.  I might not have captured the gold right when I started lots of those journeys but I still got there in the end.
Now I have been on a bit of hiatus away after my recent run came to an end.  Last year I went at everything head on full of drive and determination to do what I wanted.  Last year I finally captured the tag titles, a pair of titles that I chased since they were reinstated back in the first few months when I was still a rookie four years ago. Then a few face changes, and a throwing out more goals.  The year ended at the start of this recent Hiatus away from BPZ TV.  I come back now asking myself what is next for me?  What is next for Blade? I have been trying to come up with that answer when I started my time away from here, came up with a  few answers.
One thing is to continue as I always have done.  Come out here under the drive to do what I want and try to capture some more gold.  But I don't have the same thing driving me forward as I did last year.  The second thing I thought of was retiring from all this.  Now I am not going to mince words here, I have actually considered that a lot.  Just call it quits and come out here and say my final goodbyes to the BPZ Universe and that would be that.  But I didn't want to do that because that wouldn't be me.
So here is what is next for Blade.
We are going to come out here again and continue on as if each next day could be our last day here.  Should we be done in the next Carnage event or finish things up at BPZmania 5 or go beyond that.  Treating each next fight if it could be the one the very last one.  Maybe there will be one last title run, or maybe there wont be, but if this will be my last run through BPZ then I am going to go out my way giving all I have"
Blade shifts forward with his painted face looking right at the screen.

Blade, "I came here to BPZ as the man who walked out here and just pointed at the NXT champion and declared what I wanted.  Now returning to the same face seems only fitting now.  So lets go!  Where we are fighting champions or fighting rookies.  Fighting old rivals or fighting new ones.  We are going to give each battle everything we got.  So BPZ universe throw at me whatever you got.   We are going to give you a final showing with this run that nobody will forget!"
The screen fades to black as Blade finishes his message he is sending to the BPZ Universe.

"Where do we go from here? When you hit that cross road of should you continue forward or should you stop which choice is the right to make.  But that question is harder to answer.  Things you must see is what has driven you to where you are now?  And does that drive still drive you forward to keep continuing on?"

Suggestion, Bring back the Brand Split
Now in the discord we talk about this from time to time ever since last year the Brand Split ended in the forums.   We talked about this back at BPZmania 4, if we keep up the active members we had then this would be reconsidered again. Months later and we have the same big group we had at BPZmania 4.   Right now seems like a good time to redo the brand split in kayfabe.

How to do a Brand split this time to make it better then last time?
First make the people in charge people who can do the jobs of the role given to them. As talked in discord the idea for the next brand split is to have three people in charge.   One CEO in charge of both brands to make sure the GMs get things booked and moving smoothly, and the 2 gms in charge of their respective brands.  This was sort of needed for the last brand split.  While one GM always seemed to be doing really well, the other was either inactive or struggling to get their brand moving with active kayfabe matches.
For who should be in charge, generally it should be 3 people who will step away from title pursuits, or just 3 people who are active enough to get the jobs done. Like example: Flynn and Slim as GMs with Bart or Bailey as CEO.   Both Flynn and Slim might not be mods, but our first brand split didn't have 2 mods.  It was Bashka and Ryan as GMs of the original Carnage and Evolve

How to do the Drafts and Free Agents(new forum members)?
The drafts should be something that happens once a year around the same time each year.  The problem after the first draft was the 'saves' Everyone would just save their 'best' members and leaving not much change to each roster.   In this return we should not have any saves during the draft time.  Keeps the rosters fresh and a bit unpredictable.  Also gives the GM's chance to completely reset their rosters if needed to try and fix any problems they had the last year with their roster.
As for Free Agents and people who are new or don't get picked the during the drafts for some reason.  This part was weirdly complicated last time during the brand split, which this should be simplified down to.  We could keep this simple, every other free agent goes to a show automatically.  Each show will trade off in which show gets the next free agent.

    Anything else?
Kayfabe events shouldn't have members of the other brand appearing on it.  The tag titles should have contenders matches and have matches at the monthly contribution events.  This would be to limit the usage of other brands roster members on the rival brands big shows.
    -
Any how this is my suggestion to bring back the brand split with some details on how to make it better then the last time..

Blade got a reaction from BobdaBomb in The Madman's Party
The titantron comes on and the Party Bus but coming into the view standing on top of the bus is the madman Hollow.

Hollow, "Its party time!  But Hans he is getting serious now.  The ones who love a good party, don't have time anymore for parties.  Now they are so serious...
    Very Serious
    so so Serious.
Hans think Hollow wants revenge for what they did to Blade and took his title from him.  He thinks that is motive for what Hollow does.  What drives Hollow to going to the fourth week of the survival games tournament.  Think about everything you said Hans, there is a lot easier things Hollow could do then just wait for a simple meaningless match to get his revenge against you.   Well Hollow could also destroy something you cared about to get our revenge.
Our Revenge...Destroying what you care about...
But we don't care about any of that.  Just like you don't care about the party anymore.  So he  wouldn't care about anything Hollow would do to something say the Party Bus right now would you care about.  Hollow could destroy this bus and you wouldn't care would you.  It wouldn't make the battle personal between us would it.  It didn't bring you to take Blade's title from him, it means nothing right? Yeah it is nothing..."
Hollow climbs down from the top of the party bus and walks towards the camera.  Suddenly it becomes night time as Hollow gets closer to the camera.
Hollow, "Means nothing to you, so it is time for Hollow do something for you, to help you remember where you came from. We said we would set you free from the prison that your mind holds you in.  So now we will start the Madman's Party"
    Hollow gives a thumbs up
Hollow, "A madman party doesn't ever stop, because a madman party doesn't start until there is..."
Hollow gives a thumbs down then a crane drops its claw onto the party bus

Hollow, "Wow!  Look at that!  That was big!  The fireworks are amazing!
The Madman's Party has started!  Hans you are welcome to join the party this weekend.  We can then see if you want revenge now for something you didn't care about anymore.
    Bye Now!"
Hollow waves goodbye and the camera goes out leaving the destruction of the party bus being the last thing everyone sees.  Showing the start of the Madman's party.

Blade got a reaction from Gunner in King of Trash Style
"The King of Trash Style, What a title, for someone to be called this.  Everything they speak, and do is perfect to describe someone.  Who's art at talking trash and skills in the ring are just that.  So gritty that one can only call it Trash Style! Lets look at the professionals today to look at ones who are at the top of the game of Trash Style"
The titantron comes on and Hollow is seen walking around backstage near a trash truck with Trashmen taking out the trash  Hollow stops them.
Hollow, "Good Evening Gentlemen, we wish to talk to you today before the big Survival Games begin.  We wish to ask you both about your King."
The men look confused about why Hollow is talking to them.  Or what Hollow even is.
Hollow, "We want to know about your business in trash detail.  You all must know what I mean, you deal with it all the time.  You must talk about trash and talk trash all the time.  Just like the King of Trash Style, you all deal with a lot of Trash talk.   But Hollow wants to understand more about your guys art form.  How do you guys do this?  How do you guys deal with this garbage on a daily bases.  We imagine you don't have a lot going for yourselves.  Ordinarily nobody wants to do your job, but yet you guys have to do the job because someone has to  do the job.  Why not a Trash man aren't we right?"
The trashmen look at each other and then back as Hollow who walks about to the trash truck going to the back and opening it up.
Trashman 1, "Hey you shouldn't do that."
Hollow, "Don't tell Hollow what to do, your King has made that mistake,  first he didn't want anyone in the tournament to talk about him.  Then he tells Hollow not to poke Bulletproof.  Now the underlings are trying to tell Hollow what to do.
    Tsk, Tsk, Tsk
What kind of world is this, underlings trying to tell Hollow what to do. Hollow is here looking at where trash goes, what the people of Trash style use.  What a horrible job this is.  People thing what is left from matches of hardcore is bad but this Trash style is just terrible.  It all seems pointless and so much work, just to talk trash about someone but you people are good about that aren't you.  Bashka the king of Trash Style has done well to surround himself in trashmen but you two seem to be the very best..."
    Trashman 2, "Who is Bashka?"
Trashman 1, "Why are we talking to this freak?  He seems a bit off..."
Hollow, "Freak?  You think Hollow is crazy?  So you guys  are smarter then your King.  You make it seem like you don't know what goes on in the Carnage arena.  You should know Bashka.  The Leader of Bulletproof?  Is he the leader still?  Don't they have Flynn?  Or maybe Hollow is mistaken, that kind of hurts Bashka's relevance in that team doesn't it.  The man just lost the Intercontinental Title, now what does he have but his little group, but now has this title now that Hollow bestowed upon him.  Something that he is good at.  He has rightfully earned the title King of Trash Style.  The man that wrestles with a style that could be described as such and talks so much trash that just makes him your king!
The thing is he just a king of trash style he isn't the mad king,   His skills with trash wont save him in the survival games.  He will not survive the fight with Hollow, and neither will either of you right now..."
Trashman 2, "What do you mean..."
Hollow then attacks the two mean throwing them into the side of the trash truck, then tosses them both into the back. Then goes back to the camera
Hollow, "Bashka King of Trash Style, keep talking your trash, and bring your trash game to the survival games.  You won't fare any better then these underlings.  You are going to fall.  Your bad day is coming and all it takes is just one bad day and the madness comes for you. Insanity awaits, and Hollow will be the one to set you free from that prison you are trapped in.  You will be free of sanity, but first you must fall."
Hollow throws the camera into the back of the trash truck and it fades too black as the truck closes up on the camera.
"Down the with the King of Trash style.
and none of the kings horse
    or the kings men
Will be able to put Bashka back together again..."
