Oney Lorcan to appear at Beyond Wrestling event

Recommended Posts

Quote

- WWE NXT Superstar Oney Lorcan will be appearing at Beyond Wrestling's "Heavy Lies The Crown" event on New Year's Eve in Worcester, MA. No word yet on why WWE is allowing Orcan to appear at the show but he wrestled for Beyond Wrestling a few years back before signing with WWE. Orcan will be signing autographs and appearing for the live crowd that night but he will not be appearing on the iPPV stream. Beyond tweeted the following on the appearance:

It's nice to see a WWE superstar return to one of the promotions that gave them the platform they needed to make the progress they did as professional wrestlers. I think it's healthy for the wrestling community as a whole if WWE lets their talent appear at odd shows like this and shed some light on the smaller wrestling promotions.

I agree, I love this type of thing. Though Vince has said before, and other people in the business have said on behalf of Vince, in a perfect world he gets rid of all the other companies and remains the only one, he also knows that that isn't going to happen and therefore sees value in these other promotions... or at least HHH or someone else behind the scenes sees value and gets Vince's permission. Plus, Lorcan has been awesome in NXT in my opinion, so if he does wrestle at this event, that'll be good (though I imagine it'll just be in a dark match).

Yeh Lorcan has been amazing in NXT; he's had a lot of underrated matches in my opinion. I'm hoping he and Burch can become a full-time tag team because they evidently work extremely well together. As for Lorcan wrestling at this event, I really doubt it will happen. Firstly, I don't think WWE would let him. Secondly, if Lorcan was wrestling, I'd expect Beyond Wrestling to advertise the fact that he'll be in a match rather than just that he'll be appearing because even if it is just a dark match, it'd help sell more tickets.

Yeah, honestly, though I get why people think this would be a stretch, I could see them being the next Revival-esque tag team in NXT. They wrestle a different style and are incredibly entertaining as a hard hitting duo. I don't think either of their mic work is fantastic, but its not bad either. And yeah, I see what you mean. I don't think WWE wouldn't allow him to wrestle, as they've allowed other wrestlers to do so in the last year or so, but if he is going to wrestle, they'd probably advertise as such.
