According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Jeff Hardy has been working house shows with a pinched nerve and a leg injury. He has not been using his finishing move the Swanton Bomb at live events, as a way of WWE protecting him by booking him in very short matches at live events so he can work through his injuries. Jeff did use the move during his match with SAnitY this past SmackDown Live, however.

Hardy suffered a leg injury while doing his entrance at the May 17 SmackDown Live tapings in a dark match against The Miz. Hardy was able to compete and won the match.

Hardy is reportedly dealing with numbness in his fingers because of the nerve injury.

Hardy was set to defend his US Championship against Shinsuke Nakamura last SmackDown but Nakamura himself was out with injuries after a police dog bit him.

WWE announced that the injury Ruby Riott suffered over the weekend is an MCL sprain in her left knee.

WWE did not give a timetable for her return to action but, depending on the severity of the injury, she could be out for just a few weeks or a few months.

Riott last wrestled against Dana Brooke at the live event in Rapid City, South Dakota on Friday so that is likely when she was injured. On Raw this week, the announcers acknowledged her injury during Liv Morgan’s match.

We will pass along more updated when they are available.

UPDATE: WWE.com has confirmed that Fandango is out of action with a shoulder injury. The site reports that Fandango suffered a Left Labrum tear in his shoulder and will need surgery.

I pray this means we can get a legimate solo run from Tyler Breeze where he does something besides losing every match he’s in. I’ve always been very high on Breeze and hope he can return to his NXT form. But I don’t trust the WWE Creative Team to properly handle him.

Kane reportedly suffered an Achilles tendon injury last week, and that is the reason why he was attacked on-screen at Extreme Rules.

PWInsider.com is reporting Kane suffered the injury sometime during the course of last week’s episode of WWE Smackdown Live. He was then attacked by the Bludgeon Brothers at Extreme Rules, and saw limited action in the match and wore a walking boot. According to the report, a source downplayed the severity of the injury, but he was not seen on last night’s episode of Smackdown.

It was noted that Kane is not expected back on WWE TV in the near future because he’s preparing for the final run of his mayoral campaign in Knox County, Tennessee.

- Despite reports that Jason Jordan is ready to return but WWE hasn't come up with a creative plan for him yet, Mike Johnson of PWInsiderElite.com noted the following:

"He just hasn’t been cleared. It’s a neck injury. He’s been involved in community outreach events and promotional things for WWE but they’re not going to put him back in the ring on a full-time level until the doctors feel he can do it and be healthy and not re-injure himself. They are very very cautious now."

I can understand why they would be cautious with injuries since Tyson Kidd almost died from one a few years ago, and Jason Jordan isn't a prominent figure on RAW yet so I'm not complaining about him not back yet.

While the card for the upcoming NXT Takeover: Brooklyn IV looks to be all set, it appears that the company has stumbled upon a roadblock on their way to the event.

Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer is reporting that the former NXT Champion Aleister Black got injured during a recent Live Event and had to undergo a surgery.

The Live Event in question took place in Las Vegas this past weekend and it saw Black challenging the NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa for his title in the main event of the show.

He suffered the injury after being crotched by the Champion. It has been noted that Aleister would be ok but the spot was described to be quite scary when it happened.

As of this writing, WWE has not released any official word on Black’s injury and the announced triple threat match among him, Ciampa and Johnny Gargano at the upcoming Takeover event is still on.

No word yet on how long the former NXT Champion will be out of action or how his surgery will affect this announced bout but we’ll keep you posted.

NXT Takeover: Brooklyn IV will take place on August 18, 2018, at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

This comes at the worst time for Aleister Black and I hope he can recover in time for his match at Takeover Brooklyn IV. Although its a short amount of time it would be disappointing not see Black at NXT's biggest show of the year

It’s been a long time coming, and even as he worked shows in Mexico, Japan and other companies here in the U.S., Rey Mysterio’s been open about his intent to return to WWE.

According to PWInsider, that return is set, as the 43 year old luchador and The ‘E have agreed to new two year contract. Mysterio is ready to return and just waiting for creative plans to reintroduce him on Raw or SmackDown.

Previously, there were reports the hold-up was Mysterio wanting to work a part-time schedule. Insider doesn’t comment on that, instead saying the hold-up was related to the length of the contract. WWE got want it wanted with a 24 month deal, but Mysterio did negotiate the ability to give notice at 18 months, which was the contract duration he wanted.

So now we wait to see what Vince McMahon and company want to do with him. WWE’s allegedly wanted to a big Latino star to replace Mysterio since before his last departure in 2015. Using Rey to bridge the gap and possibly even help create his replacement (Andrade Almas, anyone?) seems like a good guess.

We’ll also need to wait and see how long Rey can stay healthy. But one step at a time.

Excited?

Can't wait to see Rey back in WWE, preferably not on 205 Live because he is too big a star to be there. Matches with Bryan, Almas, Strowman, Styles and Joe immediately come to my attention for dream matches which will all hopefully be done before he hangs up the boots

James Storm shared a picture over the weekend of him posing with a WWE Network official, leaving fans to ponder if a WWE/NXT return is in the cards for “The Cowboy.” Storm wrestled in NXT for a “cup of coffee” against Danny Burch and Adam Rose back in 2015. Storm is set to be on this morning’s Busted Open Radio with Bully Ray and Dave LeGreca at 11 am:

Interesting development. Storm could be a good addition to NXT especially in an upper midcard role where he could go for the North American Championship. If not and he goes to the Main Roster I would love to see a Beer money reunion with Bobby Roode
