Tamina Injury Update

In a new update from Fightful Select, it was revealed that Tamina Snuka has been cleared to return to the ring following a concussion injury she suffered at a WWE live event in Augusta, Maine back in July.

The injury came while Snuka and Sarah Logan were wrestling Dana Brooke and Naomi. Snuka took an accidental knee to the head from Naomi, and was then pinned by Naomi after the split-legged moonsault.

Tanina recently returned after receiving shoulder surgery and has undergone surgery in the past to repair her ACL.

Pro wrestling can be a hard-knock business and EC3 knows that all too well. He was recently banged up and some sloppy body slams are reportedly to blame.

Fightful reports that EC3 was banged up after taking some “sloppy body slams” from Titus O’Neil. It was reported that he got a check up this Monday and he was given a clean bill of health, but it’s still not a good look for Titus’ body slams.

It’s good that EC3 wasn’t really injured, but it is still a troubling situation. He isn’t used very often on television at this point, but you never know when someone might have an idea for EC3. So, he needs to be ready for action when that time comes.

We now have an update on the injury status of several WWE stars.

Per Fightful, Bobby Lashley’s return date has been bumped up from November to Oct. 14. Meanwhile Tommaso Ciampa’s most recent listing had him potentially coming back this week, but he refuted the reports online (see below). As far as Drew McIntyre, he’s expected to return tonight. Also returning soon will be Jinder Mahal, as he is expected to return Nov. 1.

With WWE SmackDown moving to FOX and NXT to the USA Network, it is good to see many of the company’s talent getting healthy soon.

An update on Jeff Hardy’s status with WWE and his expected return has surfaced online.

Fightful.com is reporting that Hardy’s WWE contract has been extended for “at least” one more year due to his current knee injury. Matt Hardy’s WWE contract remains valid through March of 2020.

Regarding his recovery, WWE’s internal injury list notes that the former WWE Champion is expected to return to in-ring action in November.

The following was written about WWE stars needing clarification about the contract extension policy:

“The decisions in doing so have been arbitrary, with several talent telling Fightful they aren’t sure of what criteria if any are followed in implementing it.”

Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer gave some updates on the return several notable talents on the WWE roster including Sheamus, The Usos and Jason Jordan.

According to Meltzer via his latest Observer Newsletter, fans can expect to see The Usos back on their television “somewhat soon.” Meltzer also states that Sheamus can be put in that same category after dealing with spinal stenosis and is ready for a return, but it’s a matter of timing and the right storyline. It also won’t be too soon as The Celtic Warrior is in Japan with Paddy Power for the Rugby World Cup.

Unfortunately the same cannot be said for Jason Jordan who, according to Meltzer, is less likely to return. Jordan had neck surgery back in 2018 and there has been talk in the past of his career being over.

RIP Jason Jordan's career.

NXT Wrestler Joaquin Wilde To Undergo Surgery For Broken Eye Socket

Pro Wrestling Sheet has learned NXT wrestler Joaquin Wilde suffered an injury over the summer that now requires surgery.

According to sources, Wilde aka former Impact wrestler DJZ suffered a broken eye socket back in July in what was said to have been a “freak accident” during training.

We’re told doctors held off on surgery these past few weeks to see if the injury would heal on its own. They’ve since decided, however, that surgery would be best.

After the procedure, sources say Wilde will likely only be out of action for a few more weeks.

Joaquin signed with WWE in late March and made his first appearance on NXT TV during the first round of the NXT Breakout Tournament against Angel Garza in June.

Pwinsider.com reports that WWE Hall of Famer “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan was hospitalized on Friday.

It was due to medical issues, but as of this writing, there’s no word yet on the reason. Duggan had to pull out of some scheduled convention appearances this weekend.

Duggan went in for a planned heart procedure in late March after being sent to an intensive care unit in South Carolina last November when his heart went into AFib (irregular heartbeat).

Wishing speedy recoveries for both Joaquin and Hacksaw. Joaquin is a very talented high flyer and as someone who has seen what he's done since his days in Impact as DJZ i have high hopes for the man as he is extremely charismatic. As for Hacksaw hopefully the first ever royal rumble winner is back on his feet in no time and has a safe and easy recovery.

WWE Superstars put their bodies through a lot of damage and sometimes a break is required. Sadly, sometimes a hiatus happens due to injury.
Sin Cara has been out of action for some time now with a knee issue. He’s still been making appearances and recently showed off his chopping skills on an unlucky talk show host’s chest.

He promised fans in San Antonio that he will be there on September 27th, and PW Insider reports that Sin Cara is set to make his in-ring return this weekend. So, it looks like Sin Cara is living up to his promise to the El Paso fans.

It will be good to have Sin Cara back. Hopefully, he used his time off well and got fully recuperated.

The unfortunate reality is that when he returns, nothing is going to happen with him anyway. The other day I actually went back and watched a few of Sin Cara’s early stuff and I feel like there could’ve been something there but he’s been turned into a glorified jobber. Nonetheless, it’s always good to see somebody return from injury.

I've grown an appreciation for Duggan as I've gotten older. He is one of the examples too of building up the mid-card talent in the WWF era so that there was someone the fans wanted to cheer up and down a card.  He was a likeable albeit goofy patriot that was great in any spot. Jim could give back and it would mean something because he was actually over and had a decent number of wins on TV. Not too many had a bad thing to say about Hacksaw. And even now when he pops up on WWE TV he can still get a chant going. I'm glad to hear this his surgeries were a success and hope nothing but a clean recovery for him.

It looks like Finn Balor could be set to return to WWE very, very soon.

This comes from WWE's recently-updated tour lineups for their upcoming live events in Australia. Taking place from 21 October to 23 October, the shows currently have Balor to face Intercontinental Champion Shinsuke Nakamura, who took the belt from the Irishman on the Extreme Rules 2019 Kickoff Show.

Of course, the usual "card is subject to change" asterisk applies here. There's no word on when Balor will return on television either, though it's probably safe to assume it'll be sometime after the 11/14 October Draft.

It was reported prior to SummerSlam 2019 (11 August) that Balor was set to take roughly two months off from WWE. Returning as part of the Australian tour would coincide with this nicely, as Finn hasn't been seen since falling victim to Bray Wyatt's Fiend gimmick at 'The Biggest Party of the Summer.'

Also scheduled for WWE's Australian tour are a number of exciting singles matches, including Kevin Owens vs. Daniel Bryan, Buddy Murphy vs. Andrade, and Aleister Black vs. Sami Zayn. Let's see if any make it to television.
