Drew Gulak VS Mustafa Ali

maxresdefault.jpg

NXT kicks off with the NXT champion, Mustafa Ali, doing battle with fellow Cruiserweight Drew Gulak. In a fantastic opener, Ali would score the victory over the Philadelphia Stretcher, putting away Gulak with an 054.

tenor.gif?itemid=13186273

After the match, Ali says that he's looking forward to his title defense next week, as he can't wait to shut Hideo Itami up once and for all. Itami has taken the low road to every title opportunity he's gotten since he failed to beat Bobby Roode, but Ali's ready to prove that all it takes to reach the top is hard work and dedication, not cheap shots and sneak attacks.

.

NXT then cuts backstage to the Cruiserweight champion, Cedric Alexander, who questions Triple H about his next Cruiserweight title defense. Triple H tells Cedric he has a plan, but for now, the Cruiserweight title is going on the back-burner, as he thinks Cedric is a strong contender for the NXT title at this point. Cedric begins to celebrate, but Triple H tells him to calm down, as he hasn't settled on anything yet, but he is keeping Cedric in his mind.

.

Tony Nese VS Adam Cole

Tony_Nese_bio--a62affaa6dded2b0edeb9898f002_NXT_10022019CA_12582--5e75f255217922

Our next bout sees Adam Cole look to insert his name back into the NXT title picture against Tony Nese, who is desperately looking for a big victory. In a great match, Cole would pull out the victory, putting away the Premier Athlete with a Last Shot. Though Adam Cole has come up short in every opportunity to qualify for an NXT title match so far, one has to think it's only a matter of time before the Panama Playboy receives a chance.

.

NXT then cuts backstage to Triple H's office, where he's joined by the Street Profits and DIY 2.0. Both teams feel they should be in line for a title match after Red Dragon or AOP get their shots, and Triple H agrees, thinking both teams have been extremely impressive lately. However, he wants to see where the NXT tag title division stands after Heroes Eventually Die's next defense before he makes any decisions. Both teams leave disappointed, but one has to believe that they are high on the list of contenders for the NXT tag team titles.

.

Red Dragon VS Authors of Pain (NXT tag title number one contender's match)

20180117_NXT_takeover_Philly_tagteam--c1

Finally, tonight's main event sees the Dusty Rhodes Classic winners, Bobby Fish and Kyle O'Reilly, do battle with the former NXT tag team champions, the Authors of Pain, to decide Heroes Eventually Die's next challengers for the NXT tag team titles. In a fantastic main event, it would be the Authors of Pain pulling out the victory, putting away Fish with the Last Chapter. NXT closes with the Authors of Pain celebrating, now having one more chance to reclaim their lost tag titles.

TLC: Tables, Ladders and Chairs

Paige VS ??? (Open challenge)

Paige_bio--ad66c2e842f93608125275665332f

TLC kicks off hot with former RAW women's champion Paige, making her open challenge. Paige cites her frustration with Stephanie McMahon not giving her the proper opportunities she deserves, and she will show Stephanie what opportunity looks like as she gives any lady in the back a chance to take on a former women's champion. Paige wouldn't have to wait long to receive her answer...

tenor.gif?itemid=12177461

Shayna Baszler! The former and final ever NXT women's champion! Shayna Baszler has answered Paige's challenge, and Paige is totally taken off guard. She pleads for the referee to cancel the match, but Paige can't escape the Queen of Spades. The bell rings, and in a good bout, Shayna would catch Paige in the Kirifuda Clutch and force her to tap out. Shayna Baszler has made her debut in decisive fashion, and with the Queen of Spades now on RAW, the entire women's division must be on guard.

The Bar VS The Revival (RAW tag team title ladder match)

sheamuscesaro.jpgimages?q=tbn:ANd9GcTNHy00C8qTaI0X2N018zT

TLC's first title match and first stipulation match of the night sees The Revival look to defend their tag team titles against The Bar. In a great bout, The Revival would score another victory over the former RAW tag team champions, with Scott Dawson and Dash WIlder retrieving the titles and continuing their RAW tag team title reign.

.

Bayley VS Ember Moon (RAW women's championship)

4e96787e540a2fa8de58544713ce674a_crop_no

TLC rolls on as RAW's recently debuting Ember Moon does battle with the RAW women's champion, Bayley, looking to cap off an impressive debut. Unfortunately for Ember, after a spirited effort, Bayley would manage to put away the She-Nom with a Bayley to Belly, continuing her RAW women's title reign.

tenor.gif?itemid=9995335

.

Braun Strowman VS Chris Jericho (Chairs match)

maxresdefault.jpg

Our second stipulation match of the night sees Braun Strowman attempt to get revenge on Chris Jericho, after getting in his way for the United States championship and getting the Monster Among Men disqualified at Survivor Series. In a quick bout, Braun would lay into Jericho with repeated chair shots, and Jericho would get barely any offense in. Finally, Braun would mercifully put the bout away by hitting Jericho with a Running Powerslam on a pile of steel chairs.

tenor.gif?itemid=9824950

After the match, Chris Jericho would get on the microphone and say he's tired of the disrespect he's received in this company. As of this moment, Chris Jericho is quitting the WWE. He attempts to add the WWE to his list, but then he remembers Braun Strowman ripped it in half. Jericho then leaves in anger, while the audience expresses their pleasure at his misfortune.

.

Absolution VS Sasha Banks/Bianca Belair VS Alexa Bliss/Carmella VS Mickie James/Natalya (RAW women's tag titles)

TLC rolls on with a match to determine the new RAW women's tag team champions after Nia Jax and Tamina were forced to vacate due to injury. In a good bout, we would see Sasha Banks and Bianca Belair score the gold, with Sasha Banks forcing Natalya to submit to the Banks Statement. Sasha Banks and Bianca Belair are your new RAW women's tag team champions.

tenor.gif?itemid=10057734

.

Sami Zayn VS Kevin Owens (Tables match)

maxresdefault.jpg

In our third stipulation match, and in the most heated bout of the night, we would see Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens clash in a vicious tables match. The match would see both men brawl all around the arena, but it would end in indecisive fashion. Zayn and Owens would brawl at the top of the entrance ramp, but both men would end up falling off and crashing through a set of tables at the bottom. Neither man would walk away from this vicious match the winner, and it's likely that their feud will only get more heated from here.

.

Drew McIntyre VS Samoa Joe (United States championship match)

5c226-15659956487226-800.jpg

Up next, we would see Drew McIntyre use the championship opportunity he earned by winning the cross brand battle royal at Survivor Series against Samoa Joe, in a battle of behemoths. In a hard hitting war, Samoa Joe would manage to barely eke out the retention, putting away McIntyre with a desperation Coquina Clutch and retaining the United States championship.

tenor.gif?itemid=12283579

.

Dean Ambrose VS Finn Balor (World Heavyweight championship TLC match)

finn-balor-dean-ambrose.jpg

Finally, we reach tonight's main event, as the 2019 King of the Ring Dean Ambrose faces the World Heavyweight champion Finn Balor in a TLC match. In a brutal, hard hitting war, Dean Ambrose would finally make good on his promise to be better than his former Shield partners, succeeding where they failed and beating Finn Balor after retrieving the World Heavyweight championship. TLC closes with the new World Heavyweight champion, Dean Ambrose, celebrating his hard-fought victory.
