King of the Ring

Pete Dunne VS The Miz (WWE championship)

pete-dunne3.jpg?fit=770,433&ssl=1The-Miz-WWE-Championship.jpg

King of the Ring kicks off hot with a WWE championship bout right out of the gate. The Miz looks to defend his title against the Bruiserweight, Pete Dunne, a man who has maintained an undefeated record thus far in his SmackDown tenure. The two men had a gentleman's agreement to not have British Strong Style get involved, but that agreement would be broken. Just as it seemed The Miz had Dunne on the ropes, Jack Gallagher and Tyler Bate would come out and distract The Miz for just long enough so Dunne could hit him with a Bitter End. Dunne would then cover the A-Lister for a successful three count, ending The Miz's title reign only one month after it began. Dunne would celebrate as the new WWE champion alongside Tyler Bate and Jack Gallagher, British Strong Style now having scored SmackDown's top prize.

The next match of the night sees Nia Jax and Tamina look to defend their recently won RAW women's tag titles against the other top three teams on RAW. In a great match, Nia and Tamina would defend against the onslaught, with Nia putting away Natalya with a leg drop.

John Cena VS Baron Corbin (Intercontinental championship)

john-cena-696x391.jpeg

Our second SmackDown match of the night sees John Cena take on Baron Corbin, looking to win the Intercontinental championship and cross another item off his bucket list before he retires at WrestleMania 34. In a good match, Cena would make good on that promise, putting Corbin away with an Attitude Adjustment. With this victory, John Cena has become Intercontinental champion for the very first time in his career, finally becoming a Grand Slam champion in the process, and he now only has one item left on his bucket list before he retires.

RESEM81743seth-chris.jpgDU1mGi_VAAAYQYX.0.jpg8b2019910ceed989-600x338.jpg

After weeks of taunting the audience with fake-open challenges, Samoa Joe must now defend the United States championship against five other men, including a man he's been ducking in particular, Braun Strowman. In a high-energy clash between six of RAW's top stars, Samoa Joe would barely eke out the retention, forcing Chris Jericho to submit to the Coquina Clutch. Samoa Joe's reign lives on tonight, but one has to believe his issues with Braun Strowman in particular are far from over.

The Hardy's VS The New Day (SmackDown tag titles)

maxresdefault.jpg

After they finally won the SmackDown tag team titles at SummerSlam, the Hardy's find themselves having to defend the gold once again against the New Day after they won a match against British Strong Style. In a thrilling clash, the Hardy's would ensure their reign as champions doesn't end quite yet, putting away the New Day after hitting Xavier Woods with an Extreme Combination.

.

Bayley VS Sasha Banks (RAW women's championship)

Bayley-Sasha-Banks.jpg

Our next match sees both a RAW women's title match, and a grudge match between former friends, as Bayley looks to get revenge on Sasha Banks for betraying her and and cashing in her Money in the Bank briefcase. In a fantastic match, Bayley would successfully get her revenge, putting away Sasha Banks with a Bayley-to-Belly. Bayley has reclaimed her RAW women's championship and scored a measure of revenge over her former friend.

The Bella Twins VS The IIconics (SmackDown women's tag titles)

maxresdefault.jpg

The rubber match between these two teams is next, as the IIconics look to defend their SmackDown women's tag titles against the inaugural champions, the Bella Twins. In a good match, the Aussie Duo would score the victory, with Peyton Royce putting away Brie Bella with a Northern Lights Suplex. The IIconics hold on to their tag titles yet again, and with this loss, one has to believe the Bella Twins will be shuffled down the card.

.

Roman Reigns VS Finn Balor (World Heavyweight championship)

110_RAW_05152017rf_1091--0fd973c80d40a95

Our second world title match of the night is next, as Finn Balor looks to continue his impressive World Heavyweight championship reign against Mr. Money in the Bank, Roman Reigns. In a thrilling clash, Balor would maintain his hold on the title, putting away Roman with a Coup de Gras after hitting a 1916.

tenor.gif?itemid=10789512

After the match, Roman would attack Balor with his Money in the Bank briefcase, incapacitating the World Heavyweight champion. However, before Roman could cash-in the contract, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson would run out for the save, chasing off the big dog. The Balor Club yet again pays dividends for Finn Balor, and his grip on the World Heavyweight championship is secured for yet another night.

.

Charlotte VS Maryse (SmackDown women's championship)

maxresdefault.jpg

The final SmackDown match of the night sees another rubber match, as Charlotte defends her SmackDown women's title against Maryse. Though Maryse's knee held up better than their first encounter, it was clearly a weak spot that Charlotte was able to exploit on route to a successful title defense, forcing Maryse to submit to the Figure Eight.

3MB VS American Alpha (RAW tag team championships)

SUR12_Photo_001.0.jpg145b514879a8c553f163810d75e6274c_crop_no

The final title match of the night sees Heath Slater and Jinder Mahal defend the RAW tag team titles against Chad Gable and Jason Jordan. The match starts off as a normal, two on two encounter, but near the end, it breaks down as Drew McIntyre runs down to ringside. Though Drew is still nursing an injury, he distracts Gable, almost costing American Alpha the match. Thankfully, American Alpha's manager, Shelton Benjamin, runs out to make the save, forcing Drew to back off. This brief distraction would be just enough for Chad Gable to capitalize, tagging in Jason Jordan, who cleaned house and led American Alpha to a title winning Grand Amplitude. American Alpha celebrates their newly won titles with Shelton Benjamin, and 3MB has never seemed more fractured than they are right now.

RAW Episode 26

RAW begins with Stephanie McMahon in the middle of the ring with a huge announcement for Survivor Series. Stephanie says that at Survivor Series, we will see the brand's champions clash in respective matches to establish which brand is superior. This means the WWE champion will face the World Heavyweight champion, the Intercontinental champion will face the United States champion, the women's champions will compete against one another, the tag team champions will compete against one another, and the women's tag champions will compete against one another. Along with this, there will be three traditional five on five elimination tag matches, one for the men, one for the women, and one for the tag teams of RAW and SmackDown. Alongside this, the remainder of both rosters will compete in a cross-brand battle royal at Survivor Series, meaning that there are a total of nine points to be scored between the two brands. Whichever brand ends the night with five or more points will earn bragging rights for the year. Not only that, but any sole survivors for the tag matches will receive championship opportunities of their choice at their time of choosing, and the winner of the cross-brand battle royal will receive the same. Stephanie finishes by saying that she will be watching the roster closely over the next month, and she's expecting to see the best possible teams to represent RAW and prove the red brand's superiority over SmackDown.

.

Absolution VS Nia Jax/Tamina/Alicia Fox

The first match of the RAW after King of the Ring sees RAW women's tag team champions, Nia Jax and Tamina, teaming with Alicia Fox to take on Absolution. In a great match, Absolution would get some much needed momentum, with Paige putting away Fox with a PTO.

.

RAW then cuts backstage to Bayley, who is celebrating after regaining her RAW women's championship from Sasha Banks at King of the Ring. However, she is then confronted by Stephanie McMahon, who announces that Sasha Banks has chosen to cash-in her rematch clause for next week, as she wants a chance to redeem herself against Charlotte at Survivor Series.

.

Sami Zayn VS Kevin Owens

31e119d78b312e7f4e662c5a9fbc52c5_1280_72

RAW then sees the former friends turned bitter rivals write one more chapter in their storied feud, as Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn look to prove their respective worth ahead of Survivor Series, with everyone wanting a spot on the Survivor Series teams. In a stellar clash, Sami Zayn would score the victory over his perpetual rival after putting him away with a Helluva Kick. After the match, Zayn would stare down his rival with pain in his eyes and tell him that he has to look out for himself from now on, and Kevin Owens is left disappointed in the ring.

.

RAW cuts backstage one final time for the night, as we see the King of the Ring, Dean Ambrose, called into Stephanie McMahon's office. Stephanie thanks Dean for bringing home King of the Ring to the red brand, and says that as a reward, she is naming him the team captain for Survivor Series. Stephanie tells him she expects him to choose the best possible team, and if he can ensure RAW's victory at Survivor Series, he will certainly be next in line for a World Heavyweight championship match.

.

American Alpha VS ??? (RAW tag team championship open challenge)

american-alpha.png

Tonight's main event of RAW sees new RAW tag team champions, American Alpha, defend their titles in an open challenge ahead of a champion vs champions match at Survivor Series against SmackDown's Hardy Boys. However, just as they make the challenge, they are attacked by the former champions, 3MB! Slater and Jinder lay out Gable and Jordan, and though Shelton Benjamin is able to fend off the Three Man Band, the damage is done before he can. Immediately out next to pick the bones are...

tenor.gif?itemid=9281302

The Revival, who claim they are answering the open challenge. Benjamin tells Gable and Jordan not to follow up on the challenge, they refuse, demanding to face The Revival right there. The bell would ring, and American Alphs would put forth a spirited effort, but it just wouldn't be enough, as they fall to a Shatter Machine. RAW closes with the new RAW tag team champions, The Revival, celebrating their win, now looking forward to a match with The Hardy's at Survivor Series.

SmackDown Episode 26

Maryse VS Dana Brooke

DLvHIQYWsAAkKeK.jpg

SmackDown kicks off with former SmackDown women's champion, Maryse, looking to get back on track after an unsuccessful title match against Charlotte at King of the Ring. Dana Brooke puts up an impressive effort, but she isn't able to overcome Maryse, falling to a French Kiss.

giphy.gif

.

After the match, SmackDown cuts backstage to Shane McMahon's office, where he says he says that he has decided two of the team captains for Survivor Series, and they will have free reign over which teams represent SmackDown at the PPV. The first of these is Maryse, who will captain the SmackDown women's Survivor Series team. The second are the team joining him right now, the New Day. As Shane says this, the New Day thanks him for the opportunity, but tells him that they don't want to pick the teams, and instead want them to earn their spots in qualifying matches. Shane accepts this proposal and makes the first qualifying match for the SmackDown tag team elimination match between Breezango and the Wyatt Family.

.

Breezango VS The Wyatt Family

fandango-breeze-1-696x392.jpgbray-wyatt.jpg

This match between Tyler Breeze and Fandango against Bo Dallas and Bray Wyatt of the Wyatt Family will determine the second team, alongside team captains the New Day, to represent SmackDown in the Survivor Series tag team elimination match. In a great match, the Wyatt Family would score the victory after a Sister Abigail from Bray Wyatt, securing Bo and Bray's spot on the team.

tenor.gif?itemid=10695302

.

SmackDown then cuts backstage to Becky Lynch and Kairi Sane, who tell Shane McMahon that they're officially ending their team and want a match against each other next week to get back on the winning track. Shane accepts their idea and makes the match official between the two former partners, who promise to have a respectful clash with one another next week.

.

Before tonight's main event, we see Charlotte Flair, who is bragging about retaining her SmackDown women's title at King of the Ring. She says that she doesn't care if it's Bayley or Sasha Banks who wins the RAW women's title next week, as they will run into a brick wall at Survivor Series in the form of Charlotte Flair.

.

The Miz VS Pete Dunne (WWE championship)

f18e1-15531082654757-800.jpgpete-dunne3.jpg?fit=770,433&ssl=1

Finally, we reach tonight's main event, where The Miz looks to reclaim his WWE championship against the Bruiserweight, Pete Dunne. In a stellar clash, the match would end in a disqualification after The Miz got fed up by repeated interference from Tyler Bate and Jack Gallagher of British Strong Style, assaulting the WWE champion with a steel chair. The Miz wouldn't reclaim the WWE title on this night, but it's clear that his issues with British Strong Style are far from over, and SmackDown closes with The Miz staring down British Strong Style.

.

Kassius Ohno and Aleister Black are then seen backstage in Triple H's office, and the duo of Heroes Eventually Die demand a match with Akam and Rezar. Triple H tells them that he can't just give them a shot at the NXT tag champions, and that they will have to earn it first. For once, Aleister Black seems on board with the idea of teaming with Kassius Ohno, and he says he doesn't care what they have to do, he wants revenge on the Authors of Pain. Triple H tells them that he'll come up with something for them, and Heroes Eventually Die leave, still frustrated.

.

street-profits-wwe-1.jpglatest?cb=20160511224318

The second Dusty Rhodes Classic quarter final of the night sees the Street Profits battle Kalisto and Sin Cara, who recently formed an alliance with Gran Metalik and Lince Dorado, titled the "Lucha House Party." Gran and Lince don't accompany their new partners out tonight, instead opting to let them take care of business themselves. The Lucha Dragons are able to give the Profits a strong fight, but it's not enough, as Dawkins and Ford put away the luchadores after a Frog Splash from Ford. The Street Profits will now move on to the semi-finals of he Dusty Rhodes Classic.

montez-ford-frog-splash.gif

.

NXT then cuts backstage to Mustafa Ali, who says that he's ready to defend his NXT title against whoever Triple H decides for him to face. However, before he can continue, he's blindsided by Bobby Roode, who attacks him from behind with a sledgehammer. As Ali is down, Roode lifts the NXT champion up and plants him with a vicious Glorious DDT, telling him that the only person he will defend against is the Glorious One.

.

Just before tonight's main event, we see Adam Cole and Roderick Strong talking to their opponents next week, Red Dragon. They appear to be having a respectful conversation, which ends with them shaking hands and going their separate ways, but one has to wonder if the good sportsmanship will continue next week when the Dusty Cup is at stake?

.

TJP VS Cedric Alexander (Cruiserweight Championship)

190b71b7b197c2e2c4029c963b238f98.jpg

Finally, we reach tonight's main event, a rematch for the Cruiserweight title between TJP and Cedric Alexander. In a spectacular main event, Cedric would retain his title after hitting a Lumbar Check on TJP, continuing his impressive Cruiserweight title reign.

iaWq20o.gif?noredirect

After the match, both men would shake hands and hug each other, but the good feelings would be put down quickly, as Hideo Itami attacks both men with a steel chair. Itami would lay out both men, putting Cedric Alexander and TJP down with a GTS. However, his tag team partner, Akira Tozawa, doesn't seem enthused about this attack. Itami begins yelling at Tozawa, demanding that he hit Cedric with a Senton Bomb. Tozawa reluctantly does so, blasting the Cruiserweight champion with the Senton. NXT ends with Hideo Itami raising the Cruiserweight title above his head, Tozawa reluctantly standing by Itami's side.

A very solid episode of NXT here Meko, Gargano and Lorcan seem to be working pretty well as a tandem and this victory over the also random tandem of Andrade/Lars show.

Street Profits beating the Lucha Dragons is overall the right call here as they are the better team overall.

Finally a pretty solid Main Event over the Cruiserweight Championship. Glad to see Cedric retaining.

Braun smiles at this proposal and tells Dean that everyone on SmackDown will get these hands. Now that Ambrose has recruited Braun Strowman for the RAW men's team, SmackDown's hopes of winning have drastically fallen.

.

Before tonight's main event, we see the new RAW tag team champions, The Revival. They say that last week, American Alpha foolishly gave them an opportunity and they capitalized, because that's what they do. Now, The Revival has the rare opportunity to shut down the nostalgia acts known as The hardy's, who have plagued the WWE tag team division for too long. The Revival promises that they will "delete" The Hardy's and prove that the top guys are indeed on RAW.

.

SmackDown then cuts backstage to the inaugural and former SmackDown women's tag team champions, the Bella Twins. However, Shane has been impressed with The Miz lately, and he thinks that The Miz is the perfect man to captain the SmackDown men's Survivor Series team. .

Just before tonight's main event, we see a contract signing between Bobby Roode and NXT champion Mustafa Ali for their NXT championship match at NXT TakeOver: Houston. Will Roode be able to reclaim his lost prize in Houston, or can the Cinderella story of Mustafa Ali continue a little longer?

NXT's main event tonight sees Adam Cole and Roderick Strong do battle with Bobby Fish and Kyle O'Reilly for the last semi-final spot in the Dusty Rhodes Classic. In an incredible main event, it would be the established tandem of Fish and O'Reilly who scored the win, putting away Roderick Strong with Chasing the Dragon.

Chasing+the+Dragon+by+O%2527Reilly.gif

After the match, both teams would shake hands, with Cole and Strong wishing Fish and O'Reilly luck in the remainder of the tournament. However, all four men are blindsided by the surprise attack from Lars Sullivan and Andrade "Cien" Almas! Fish and O'Reilly are taken out early by Sullivan, while Andrade lays into Cole and Strong with a steel chair. All four men are far too weakened after their grueling bout to fend off the attack, and it would ultimately end with Sullivan planting Cole with a Freak Accident. NXT ends with Almas and Sullivan standing tall over their rival, their issues clearly not resolved yet.

The first match of tonight's RAW sees Sami Zayn, Chris Jericho and Kevin Owens compete, with the caveat that the winner is added to the men's Survivor Series team. This strikes a nerve with Roman, who tells Rollins that if he thinks he's gone soft, they can have a match next week and he can prove how on his game he really is. .

After the match, SmackDown cuts backstage to Maryse, who is approached by Naomi, Lana and Dana Brooke. All three women feel that they deserve a spot on the SmackDown women's Survivor Series, and that Maryse needs to pick them. If not, their opponents will be added. The three women agree to these terms, and the match is set for next week, though their opponents remain a mystery.

.

C90K-GpVoAEG1Kn.jpg093_SD_09252018dg_2015--e5b24eda4c2abd91

We then see another match to determine the fourth team for the men's tag team Survivor Series match, as British Strong Style's Tyler Bate and Jack Gallagher clash with Tye Dillinger and Shinsuke Nakamura, who look to have better luck than their partner, Dolph Ziggler, earlier tonight. Though this was a heated clash between these two rivals, yet again, history would favor the British invaders, as Jack Gallagher scores the victory for his team following a vicious headbutt to Tye Dillinger. British Strong Style now joins the New Day, the Ascension and the Wyatt Family, with the final spot being decided next week when the Usos take on the Hype Bros.

.

SmackDown then cuts to the two respective tag team champions of the blue brand, those being The IIconics and The Hardy Boys. The IIconics claim that they aren't scared of Nia and Tamina, and have a game plan to prove that they are the most iconic women's team in the WWE. The Hardy's then chime in, claiming that nobody can match their legacy, and when they DELETE The Revival at Survivor Series, they will prove their worth at the top of the division.

.

AJ Styles VS Randy Orton

20190320_WM_AJRandy__e9bff9487ac93380fd3

Tonight's main event acts as a King of the Ring rematch, as AJ Styles does battle with Randy Orton yet again. In a fantastic bout, it would be the Viper who picked up the victory tonight, putting AJ Styles away with an RKO.

tenor.gif?itemid=7960159

After the match, the Viper celebrates alongside his Wyatt Family brethren, but it's cut short by the men's Survivor Series team captain, The Miz. The Miz comes out and announces that he knows the team he wants for Survivor Series. First, the man who has proven his ability to get it done in Survivor Series matches for years, the Viper, Randy Orton. Second, the former Intercontinental champion and a man The Miz is very familiar with, Baron Corbin. Third, a man with everything to prove, the Bulgarian Brute, Rusev. And finally, a man who he knows is capable of amazing things in this company, but who has been stuck in a rut recently that he can't seem to get out of. The final member of the men's Survivor Series team is none other than AJ Styles. With this announcement, the SmackDown men's Survivor Series team is set, and the ball is now in RAW's court to come up with a response to this stacked quintet of stars.

NXT kicks off with NXT champion Mustafa Ali doing battle against Ariya Daivari in a warm-up bout for his NXT title defense against Bobby Roode at TakeOver: Houston. In a hot opener, Ali would prove his worth at the top of the division yet again, putting away Daivari with an 054.

tenor.gif?itemid=13186273

After the match, Mustafa Ali says that reaching this point in his career was never more than a wild dream for him a few months ago. Now, he reigns atop the NXT division as the NXT champion, and he has no intentions on losing the gold any time soon. He knows Bobby Roode is a dangerours competitor, but he's beaten Roode before, and he knows he can do it again.

.

NXT then cuts backstage to Triple H's office, and he's joined by Aleister Black and Kassius Ohno, the team known as Heroes Evenually Die. Ohno and Black are informed by Triple H that they will have a match against the Authors of Pain at TakeOver: Houston. However, he can't have his tag team champions compete at such a big event and not defend their titles, so their match will be for the tag team titles. Ohno initially protests, knowing Black has no interest in being a tag team competitor, but Black cuts him off, accepting the match. Black tells Ohno that he believes it would be an honor to win his first championship in NXT alongside his former mentor and close friend. The two men shake hands and thank Triple H, with the NXT tag title match now set for TakeOver: Houston.

.

Hideo Itami VS TJP

Hideo-Itami.jpgtjp-released-by-wwe.jpg

NXT then sees a clash between two of NXT's greatest Cruiserweights, as Hideo Itami looks to earn a Cruiserweight title match against Cedric Alexander by beating TJP tonight. In a stellar bout, Itami would do just that, putting away TJP with a GTS and officially earning his match against Cedric Alexander at TakeOver: Houston.

tenor.gif?itemid=10636738

After the match, Itami would begin to attack TJP, looking to draw out Cedric Alexander. Itami would demand that his partner, Tozawa, join in the assault, and he reluctantly does so. However, Cedric Alexander would run down to the ring with steel chair in hand, and Itami would flee. Tozawa wouldn't be so lucky, eating a steel chair shot and a Lumbar Check from the Cruiserweight champion. Itami is able to escape tonight, but there will be nowhere to run at TakeOver: Houston when he battles Cedric Alexander for the Cruiserweight title.

.

Just before tonight's main event, we would see Adam Cole and Roderick Strong engaged in a brawl backstage with Andrade "Cien" Almas and Lars Sullivan. Backstage security is able to split up the warring duos, but NXT then displays a graphic, announcing that Cole and Strong VS Almas and Sullivan is now official for TakeOver: Houston.

.

Heavy Machinery VS DIY 2.0 (Dusty Rhodes Classic Semi-Final)

NXT_02232017ca_1055b--00f823d8847db68c48nxtawards_diy_hd--5c121927b69f3467ca538f

RAW Episode 29

Absolution/Sasha Banks/Bianca Belair VS Mickie James/Natalya/Alicia Fox/Alexa Bliss/Carmella

RAW kicks off with a warm-up match for the RAW Women's Survivor Series team, as Absolution, Sasha Banks and Bianca Belair prepare themselves for 5 on 5 action against the remainder of the RAW women's roster. In a good opener, Absolution, Banks and Belair would score the victory, with Team Captain Paige putting away Alicia Fox with a PTO. The RAW women's Survivor Series team emerges with a huge boost of momentum, and with a title match on the line for any survivors, you know all five of these women will give it their all.

giphy.gif

.

RAW then cuts backstage to two of the members of the men's RAW Survivor Series team, Braun Strowman and Chris Jericho. Jericho attempts to make a truce with Strowman, aware of their recent quarrels over the United States championship. Braun accepts, but makes it clear that this truce only lasts up to Survivor Series. After he is one of the RAW survivors, he will place his attention squarely on the United States championship, and if Jericho gets in his way again, he won't live to regret it.

.

The Bar VS Balor Club VS The Golden Truth VS The Colons VS 3MB VS SAnitY VS The Bludgeon Brothers VS American Alpha VS No Way Jose/Elias VS Sami Zayn/Kevin Owens (Tag Battle Royal)

We then cut to a massive 10 team battle royal to determine the five teams that will represent RAW in the men's tag team Survivor Series match. During the match, we would see Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens at each others throats yet again, but they would manage to stay alive just long enough to see the Golden Truth, the Colons, SAnitY, the Bludgeon Brothers, and No Way Jose/Elias all be eliminated. With this, the men's tag team Survivor Series team will be made up of The Bar, Balor Club, 3MB, American Alpha and Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens.

After the match ends, Stephanie McMahon comes out and announces that these five teams are now locked in to compete at Survivor Series. However, this battle royal will continue, with the winning team being named the team captains of RAW! Stephanie says this is the last chance for these teams to release any dormant tension, so she doesn't want to see any in-fighting at Survivor Series. The bell rings once more, and the five teams begin fighting again. Perpetual rivals 3MB and American Alpha would go right after each other, which ended with Chad Gable eliminating Heath Slater, but Jinder Mahal eliminating Gable right after, causing both teams to lose their chance at being team captains. 3MB and American Alpha brawled to the back, leaving only three duos left. The Bar and Balor Club would rekindle their rivalry, and this ended with Sheamus and Anderson eliminating each other at the same time. With this, the two men arguing with each other in the middle of the ring, Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens, are now the RAW tag team Survivor Series captains.

.

Before tonight's main event, we see hype videos for all the champion VS champion clashes at Survivor Series, as Bayley VS Charlotte, Nia Jax/Tamina VS The IIconics, The Revival VS The Hardy's, Samoa Joe VS John Cena, and Finn Balor VS Pete Dunne being given spotlight one last time before Survivor Series.

.

Roman Reigns VS Seth Rollins

roman-reigns-vs-seth-rollins-wwe-raw-750

Finally, tonight's main event sees former Shield members clash, both of whom have been in a recent slump after failing to wrest the World Heavyweight championship from Finn Balor's hands. Ultimately, in a fantastic match, nothing would be resolved between these men, as their match ended in a double count out after a Spear through a barricade.

After the match, Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins would begin arguing with each other again, the tension between these two men reaching a fever pitch, but they would be interrupted by Dean Ambrose. Ambrose says he knows both men want another chance at the World Heavyweight championship, and Ambrose knows first hand that when all three of them work together, they're unstoppable. Even though Ambrose still hasn't forgiven Rollins and doesn't like this recent cockiness Roman's developed, he knows that RAW's best chance at success will only come if Roman and Rollins are on the RAW men's Survivor Series team. Roman and Rollins agree, and with this, the men's RAW Survivor Series team is set, with Dean Ambrose set to lead Chris Jericho, Braun Strowman, Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins against SmackDown. RAW closes with the three men looking at each other warily, preparing to team together for the first time in years.

source.gif

Itami would then attack Cedric after the match, once again egging Tozawa on to join the attack. However, before they could dismantle the Cruiserweight champion, Triple H would come out and warn Hideo that if he attacks Cedric, his Cruiserweight title match is revoked. Triple H also announces that at TakeOver: Houston, Cedric and Itami's tag team partners will compete against each other, as Akira Tozawa faces TJP.

.

NXT then cuts to a backstage promo with the Authors of Pain and Paul Ellering, who finally offers an explanation for the AOP's attack on Kassius Ohno and Aleister Black. For a year, the Authors of Pain ran roughshod over NXT. Nobody could beat them. They were undefeated, untouchable, and unstoppable. Then the NXT title number one contender's tournament happened...And the Authors of Pain fell to Black and Ohno. Their undefeated streak in tatters. Quite simply, they refused to let this stand, and they were not gonna let Black and Ohno go without getting revenge. Now, Heroes Eventually Die will have a shot at their NXT tag titles...And TakeOver: Houston will be the site of their final destruction, as the Authors write another chapter in their book of pain.

.

TakeOver: Houston Card

Adam Cole/Roderick Strong VS Lars Sullivan/Andrade "Cien" Almas

After both Cole and Sullivan debuted and put forth incredible performances in the NXT Number One Contender's tournament, they would end up costing each other a chance to battle for the title in a fatal four-way. This resulted in a bout at TakeOver: Brooklyn III, which was won by Sullivan, who revealed his alliance with Andrade soon after. Cole would then form a team with Roderick Strong for the upcoming Dusty Rhodes Classic, but after both teams respective eliminations, hostilities were renewed. Now, Cole has a chance to redeem that loss alongside Roderick Strong against this powerful duo of Sullivan and Almas.

.

Akira Tozawa VS TJP

After aligning with Hideo Itami, Akira Tozawa would then find his role as Itami's underling, with the goal to ensure Itami's success at all costs. This has resulted in Itami taking aim at the Cruiserweight title, with repeated attacks to the Cruiserweight champion coming from Itami and Tozawa. This drew the chagrin of both the Cruiserweight champion, Cedric Alexander, and his friend, TJP. Now, as Itami and Cedric battle for the gold, TJP and Tozawa will look to take care of their hostilities in the meantime, with both men certainly looking to insert their names in the Cruiserweight title discussion.

.

Red Dragon VS DIY 2.0 (Dusty Rhodes Classic Finals)

A roster-wide tag tournament would ultimately culminate in the experienced tandem of Bobby Fish and Kyle O'Reilly facing off with Johnny Gargano and Oney Lorcan for the chance to call themselves the third ever Dusty Cup winners. Which of these impressive teams will reign supreme and prove their spot as one of the premier duos in the NXT tag division?

.

Hideo Itami VS Cedric Alexander (Cruiserweight championship)

After winning the Cruiserweight title and defending it strong against all challengers, Cedric Alexander was targeted by Hideo Itami, fresh off of losing his chance at the NXT championship. Itami would target Cedric with repeated blindside attacks, and after beating TJP, he would earn a shot at Alexander the Great's Cruiserweight championship. Will Itami finally score championship gold in the WWE, or does the Age of Alexander continue yet longer?

.

Heroes Eventually Die VS The Authors of Pain (NXT Tag Team Championship)

As the Dusty Rhodes Classic began, the Authors of Pain walked out of their first match, claiming that they already won the tournament once and have nothing to prove by doing it again. Soon after, they would cost the duo of Kassius Ohno and Aleister Black their match in the Dusty Rhodes Classic. This led to Black and Ohno requesting a match with the monstrous duo, and Triple H would agree, but with the added caveat of the NXT tag titles on the line. Though Black had made it clear that he wasn't interested in being a tag team guy, he relented, believing that winning his first title alongside his mentor would be fine by him. The Authors of Pain then revealed that the reason they targeted Heroes Eventually Die was because they ended the tandems respective undefeated streaks, and the AOP are looking to get revenge. Which of these hard hitting teams will walk out of Houston with the gold?

.

Bobby Roode VS Mustafa Ali (NXT Championship)

At TakeOver: Brooklyn III, Mustafa Ali shocked the world by upsetting Bobby Roode and winning the NXT championship. Since then, the Dusty Rhodes Classic took center stage as part of NXT programming, but Bobby Roode refused to stop hounding Ali. Eventually, the rematch was set, with Mustafa Ali having to back up his victory at Brooklyn and prove it wasn't a fluke. Does Ali's Cinderella story continue, or does the Glorious reign of Bobby Roode commence yet again?
