Hello everybody, here I'm going to give my shot at booking an NJPW diary. We will be starting from January 4th, 2018. Wrestle Kingdom 12. The card for WK 12 will remain the same, but the results and subsequent booking will be up to me. As for Road to shows, I will highlight any significant happenings from them, but will not be booking each Road to show, and placing all title matches on the main shows. I will not be booking crossover shows like Honor Rising, NJPW shows only. Feel free to post your predictions to the match cards. I hope you enjoy!

Championship history page and Wrestle Kingdom Card coming soon....

Predictions and Thoughts

Pre-Show: New Japan Rumble - Going to go with a safe bet and say Liger wins this one.

Main Show:

IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championships
Roppongi 3K (SHO and YOH) (c) vs. The Young Bucks (Matt and Nick Jackson) - I am usually not a fan of champions dropping on there first title defense and I like Roppongi 3K over the Bucks so I think they retain here unlike IRL

Gauntlet Match for the NEVER Openweight 6-Man Tag Team Championships
Bullet Club (Tama Tonga, Tanga Loa and Bad Luck Fale) (c) vs. Chaos (Beretta, Tomohiro Ishii and Toru Yano) vs. Taguchi Japan (Juice Robinson, Ryusuke Taguchi and Togi Makabe) vs. Suzuki-gun (Taichi, Takashi Izuka and Zack Sabre Jr.) vs. Michael Elgin, Hanson and Rowe - Gives them something to do, I am honestly not really a big fan of the 6 Man Tag Teams Titles but hopefully you do something good with them.

Singles Match
Kota Ibushi vs. Cody - Going with Ibushi here as I just like more than Cody. Should be a cracker.

IWGP Tag Team Championships
Killer Elite Squad (c) vs. EVIL and SANADA - Predicting a big night for LIJ and it starts here with EVIL and SANADA capturing the Heavyweight Tag Team Titles

Hair vs. Hair Match for the NEVER Openweight Championship
Minoru Suzuki (c) vs. Hirooki Goto - Sticking with the IRL result as it was pretty good.

Four-way Match for the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship
Marty Scurll (c) vs. Will Ospreay vs. KUSHIDA vs. Hiromu Takahashi - The strong night continues for LIJ jere. Normally I would have Marty retain here but he is kinda of more of a ROH guy in the end.

IWGP Intercontinental Championship
Hiroshi Tanahashi (c) vs. Jay White - Too soon for Jay White, but he should still do well against the "Ace" who keeps the title here.

Semi-Main Event: No Disqualification Match for the IWGP United States Heavyweight Championship
Kenny Omega (c) vs. Chris Jericho - Omega is too good for the US Champion and since I presume you will be using Jericho a bit more, I think he is a right choice to hold the US Title to help with the US Expansion.

Main Event: IWGP Heavyweight Championship
Kazuchika Okada (c) vs. Tetsuya Naito - Okada's reign comes to an end here starting your diary with a bang and Tetsuya Naito becoming the new IWGP Heavyweight Champion, ending an amazing night for LIJ.

This seems right up your ally and it will be fun to watch the journey and see how you dictate the company history now being able to look back on how their own choices have panned out for them. Depending on how far you go in the diary will wrestlers leave when they left the company in real life/will injuries take place ect or will this be completely your own universe? Either way i look forward to it.

IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championships
Roppongi 3K (SHO and YOH) (c) vs. The Young Bucks (Matt and Nick Jackson)

Image result for WK 12 R3K vs. Young Bucks

We open the show with the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championships, as former 6-Time champions, the Young Bucks, look to quash the upstart champions, SHO and YOH, Roppongi 3K. The match begins with some strong mat wrestling from YOH and Matt Jackson, with Matt's continued back injures causing him to fall behind, YOH taking advantage with an Abdominal Stretch. YOH tags to SHO and they're able to get some early momentum, hitting some nice stereo jumping knees. SHO tags back to YOH who hits Matt with a falcon arrow for a 2 count. Matt is also to turn things around with a series kick to the gut and back of YOH, tagging in his brother. The Young Bucks begin to take the lead and throw R3K to the outside, bowling them over with stereo triangle moonsaults!

The teams brawl around ringside before R3K are thrown back into the ring, and the Bucks hit "More Bang for your Buck" on YOH! but only gets a two count.

More%2BBang%2Bfor%2BYour%2BBuck.gif

Nick tags into Matt who tries to apply a deep sharpshooter on YOH, but gets a boot to the face for his trouble, only for YOH to lock in his own sharpshooter on Matt, wrenching back on his injured spine! Matt reaches for the ropes, but YOH drags him back into the centre of the ring! Will he tap?!? Nick Jackson enters and breaks up the pin with s snug superkick on the jaw of YOH. Matt is just able to get the tag, and the bucks continue their crisp tag team offence, the crowd going restless as SHO is calling to his partner to make the tag. YOH is hit with a brutal double superkick, but kicks out again! Frustrated, the Bucks set up to hit the Meltzer Driver on YOH, and it connects!

Meltzer%2BDriver%2Bfrom%2Bthe%2BSpringboards.gif

This is it! 1,2.....no! SHO just managed to break up the pin! The Bucks clatter SHO with a pair of superkicks before locking in stereo sharpshooters, wanting to humiliate Roppongi 3K by making them tap out at Wrestle Kingdom! After many grueling seconds, YOH is able to reach the ropes and break the hold. The Bucks set up for another Meltzer Driver, but YOH couunters with a Victory roll on Matt! 1,2, kick out!

Nick tries to interfere but YOH hits a snappy enziguri, and hits his Inside-out lariat to Matt! YOH gets the tag, SHO is in! He runs house, battering Matt with a series of brutal german suplexes and forearms, really displaying some intense fire. R3K hit their tandem offence, with a double knees to the corner.

Wheelbarrow%2Baided%2BDouble%2BKnee%2Bto%2Bthe%2BCorner.gif

Followed by a Superkick, Backcracker and Busaiku kick combination for a two count, causing a dazed Nick to roll out of the ring.

Roppongi 3K are fired up, SHO tries to hit his Shock Arrow finisher, but Matt fights out of it, going to hit SHO with another superkick, but from out of nowhere, YOH is in the ring! 3K! They've hit 3K!

3K.gif

1! 2! 3!!! Roppongi 3K retain the gold at Wrestle Kingdom! What a run they're on since their return from excursion mere months ago! There are new aces of the Jr. Tag Division. Rocky celebrated with them in the ring as they hoist their much deserved Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championships.

Starting off with the groups of Elgin, Hanson and Rowe vs. Taguchi Japan. Michael Elgin and Juice Robinson shake hands before locking up, soon dissolving into strong strike and chop exchanges, with Elgin gaining the upper hand, but Juice is definitely holding his own.

Forearm%2BSmashes.gif

Juice fights out of vertical suplex and hits Elgin with a leg lariat, soon is able to tag to Taguchi. The Funky Weapon tries to jump Elgin, only to get rocked with a brutal forearm from Big Mike. He is dominating the start of this match.

Forearm%2BSmash%2B1.gif

Elgin cuts off the ring efficiently, wailing on Taguchi, soon able to pick up a shockingly quick pin with an Elgin Bomb, not even needing to tag to Hanson or Rowe. Taguchi Japan are eliminated.

Next up are Suzuki-gun. Elgin tags to War Machine who battle it out with Zack Sabre Jr, who wraps them up in a series of painful submissions. He tags to Taichi who goes toe to toe with Rowe, exchanging kicks and knees, with Taichi laying out Rowe with a buzzsaw kick.  He tags to Izuka, who teases using the Iron Fingers, but Rowe fights back, tagging to Elgin. Who wastes little time and applies a crossface on Izuka, leaving him no option but to tap. Suzuki-gun are eliminated.

Suzuki-gun is eliminated via submission with a Crossface to Izuka at 10:39

Elgin is looking like a monster, with little to no fatigue after dominating the match. Next in is Chaos, immediately Elgin and Ishii trade hard strikes to a stalemate. Elgin tries to hit a suplex on Ishii, but gets countered into one from the Stone Pitbull, tagging to Beretta. He hits a flurry of fast running strikes on Elgin, but his attempts at the Dudebuster are blocked, he tags to Yano. Toru Yano tries to take the turnbuckle off, but Elgin pulls him away, hitting a beefy greman suplex. Elgin motions for the Elgin Bomb, but Yano rolls him up! 1...2.....No! Elgin counters into his own crucifix pin! 1! 2! No! Beretta tries to help Yano, but Elgin catches both of them into a Fallaway Slam/Samoan Drop combination! Wow!

Elgin quickly hits another Elgin Bomb to Yano for the 3 count!

Chaos is eliminated via pinfall with an Elgin Bomb to Yano at 16:31

Lastly, the Champions, Bullet Club make their way to the ring. Elgin faces off with Bad Luck Fale, trying to slam the Underboss, but to no avail. After narrowly avoiding a Grenade, Elgin tags to Rowe. War Machine try to fight off Fale, but his size is just too much. He tags to Tama Tonga who takes the lead with his sneaky tactics. War Machine tries to tag to Elgin, but GOD cut them off, quickly hitting Guerrilla Warfare on Rowe for the pin to retain the NEVER 6-Man Titles. Unfortunate for the challengers, especially Elgin who was a true beast.

Singles Match
Kota Ibushi vs. Cody

First out is Kota Ibushi to a huge ovation from the Tokyo Dome crowd. Cody enters with Brandi and his Bullet Club entourage to much theatrics. His mind games continue when the match starts, taunting both Ibushi and the crowd. However, once they begin to exchange holds, it's apparent that Ibushi has the advantage. While taking a powder outside, Ibushi hits a huge tope suicida on his opponent! Ibushi smiles at the crowd's adoration as he stands on the apron, but what's this?!? Cody is back up, he sneaks behind Ibushi on the apron, and oh my goodness! He hits a huge Cross Rhodes off the apron!!!

The Golden Star is rocked. Cody rolls the motionless weight of Ibushi back into the ring and goes for the cover. 1, 2 3!....No! Ibushi was just able to get his foot on the ropes! He's still in the match. An infuriated Cody seethes and pulls up Ibushi by the hair to hit another Corss Rhodes, but Ibushi fluidly counters and hits one of his own! This match is really hitting high gear. Ibushi lights up Cody with a combination of strikes and kicks. Cody runs to the ropes and lands a Disaster Kick clean on Ibushi. Cody goes for an Alabama Slam, but Ibushi fights out of it, grabbing both of Cody's wrists, and lands a Kamigoye for the 3 count. Kota Ibushi wins.

He slithers into the ring and goes for a pinfall, but only gets a 2 count. Jay lifts the Ace into a fireman's carry, but Tanahashi is able to escape and tries to hit a dragon suplex, but Jay White, ever the tactician, is able to block it by lowering his hips. Jay performs a standing switch to be behind the Ace, who tries to hit a back elbow on the challenger. However, it was all a bait from the Switchblade, as he's now in the perfect position to hit a snap saito suplex!

Jay goes for the pin. 1...2...kick out. Jay smirks as he picks up the broken Ace into a fireman's carry, this time landing a Death Valley Driver for a close 2 count.

Jay snorts in frustration that Tanahashi hasn't given up yet, and he tries to lock in an Inverted Figure-4-Leglock, but Tanahashi kicks him away, quickly standing and hitting a Sling Blade! The crowd comes alive as Tanahashi fires up. He lights up the challenger with a series of slaps and palm strikes, whipping him into the ropes and landing his signature flying forearm smash. Tana screams in enthusiasm as he favours his knee, locking his arms around White and hitting a crisp Straight Jacket German Suplex, with a bridge! 1...2....Switchblade just barely kicks out!

Tanahashi isn't letting up, as he grabs White by the legs and locks in the Texas Cloverhold! But what's this? He isn't sinking deeper into the hold, but instead he falls forward into a Styles Clash!

Tana goes for another pinfall, but Jay manages to get to the ropes. Tanahashi goes to scale the ropes to land the High Fly Flow, the crowd exploding in cheers. Tana is about to jump, but Jay White rolls to the outside of the ring. Tanahashi then repositions and lands the High Fly Flow on the outside!

The Ace recovers and winces in pain as he clutches his knee, but rolls Switchblade back into the ring. He scales the turnbuckle once again and jumps to hit another High Fly Flow, but Jay gets hit knees up! Switchblade slowly gets up with assistance from the ropes, and gestures to hit the Blade Runner, the new move he laid out Tana with at Power Struggle!

Switchblade is about to hit his finish, but Tana counters and switches to behind Jay, trying to land a Dragon Suplex, while Jay is trying to block and switch to hit a Saito Suplex, kicking back at Tanahashi's knee to try and gain leverage. After several reversals, including another Blade Runner attempt, Tanahashi is able to land the Dragon Suplex!

Tanahashi fights through the pain, and scales the turnbuckle one last time. High! Fly! Flow! it connects! Tanahashi goes for one more! High Fly Flow!! Tanahashi goes for the pin! Red Shoes dives into position!

"Judas" plays throughout the Tokyo Dome as The Alpha, Chris Jericho makes his way to the ring. Sporting a creepy and grungy look, Jericho means business as he enters the ring.

Coming out last is the IWGP United States Heavyweight Champion, Kenny Omega, wearing a very over the top headdress, complete with a large gun accessory.

Right as the bell rings, Jericho charges Omega and puts the boots to the champion in the corner, slapping Omega right across the face. Jericho then chokes Omega with his boot in the corner, taunting the crowd while he does it. The Alpha lays in some snug punches as Omega shakily gets to his feet, blocking the next slugs from Jericho, giving out some of his own. Omega keeps wailing on Jericho and clotheslines him over the ropes. Jericho quickly hopes over the barricade, and thinks that he is safe, but not so. Omega hops onto the top rope and launches himself from the ring, over the barricade and right onto Jericho! Crashing down with a wince-inducing thud!

Omega grunts in pain but gets to his feet, brawling with Jericho, connecting with several punches and forearms. mega brings them back to ringside, and pulls out a trashcan from under the ring. Jericho tries to fight back but is met with a gut kick from the champion, who lifts Jericho up and lands a brutal piledriver on the trashcan!!

HARD7.gif

Jericho is bloody as Omega rolls him into the ring. As Jericho is leaning against the ropes, Omega rebounds off the other side to land a V-Trigger, but Jericho is just able to evade the knee strike. Omega gets tangled in the ropes as Jericho rolls out to quickly find a steel chair, smacking Omega over the back with it, as well as bashing it to Omega's forehead, busting the champion open. Jericho smirks "Come on, Baby!" he goes for the cocky one-foot pin on Omega, but only gets a 1 count. Jericho snarls and stomps Omega on the back as he tries to crawl away. Chris Jericho grabs Omega's legs and flips him over to lock in the Walls of Jericho, sitting deep into the hold. Omega tenses and flails in pain and scrambles to reach the ropes, but The Alpha drags him to the centre of the ring.

Omega screams and pulls on Red Shoes' shirt, pulling him onto Jericho and breaking the hold. Omega is seething as he runs at full speed, hitting Jericho with a Hurricanrana. The champion then picks up Jericho and lands a rolling fireman's carry, springing up the turnbuckles into a moonsault!

M2.gif

Omega goes for the pin, but only gets a 2 count. Omega is fired up and taunts for Jericho to get up, he tries for a superkick, but Jericho blocks, pulling Omega forward and into a shoulder block. The Alpha breaks out some surprising athleticism as he lands a Lionsault! Only getting a 2 count as well.

Jericho punches the mat in frustration as he slides out of the ring, forcibly grabbing the United States title from ringside, bringing it into the ring. He picks up Omega and sets up to hit a DDT on the title, but Omega counters, grabbing Jericho's wrist and hitting a Rain-Trigger! Jericho is groggy and out on his feet. Omega ripcords Jericho again looking to hit another Rain-Trigger, but like a praying mantis, Jericho jumps and lands a brutal Codebreaker from out of nowhere!!!!

This is it! Chris Jericho goes for the pin! 1...2....No!!! Omega kicked out! Jericho is in disbelief that the Codebreaker didn't put Omega away. Jericho drags Omega to the centre of the ring and locks in another Walls of Jericho, with Omega's head right over the US Title. Jericho then lifts Omega's legs up, and presses his knee to Omega's head into the US Title! It's the Liontamer! We haven't seen this version of the submission in years! Omega is screaming in pain at the immense pressure on the back, his blood dripping onto the championship belt that he was fighting so much to keep.

After a nail-bitingly long time in the submission, Omega is just able to get to the ropes and escape the hold as Jericho wails on him with even more stomps and kicks. Omega eventually counters and rallies into a comeback; forearm, superkick and Omega calls upon an old friend as he hoists Jericho up to a Sit-Out Last Ride Powerbomb!

M21.gif

1....2...Jericho only just gets his shoulder up! Fighting through the back pain, Omega shakily motions for the One-Winged Angel. He tried to lift Jericho up, but Jericho turns and tries to hit another Codebreaker, but Omega has it scouted, stomping Jericho down into the mat with brutal force. Omega tries again, it's slow as his back is clearly in pain, but he manages to lift Jericho up to the Electric Chair position! Omega looks around and walks over to the US Title, and boom! One-Winged Angel onto the United States Championship!

Main Event: IWGP Heavyweight Championship
Kazuchika Okada (c) vs. Tetsuya Naito

Image result for Okada vs. Naito

It's main event time, the match all of Japan is waiting for. First, the challenger makes his way to the ring, showered in thunderous chants of his name, the crowd are in awe of this icon, the champion of the forgotten and downtrodden, against authority and it's rigid flaws. The Ungovernable One. The winner of G1 Climax 27. Tetsuya Naito.

Image result for Tetsuya naito Wrestle Kingdom entrance gif

Next is the champion, the very definition of dominance, the avatar of power and authority of the ring, accompanied by Gedo, the reigning IWGP Heavyweight Champion. The Rainmaker. Kazuchika Okada. Okada's expression is no different to any other defence, he is at the peak of his dominance of New Japan, 8 defences to his name in this reign and having prevailed at the two consecutive Wrestle Kingdom main events prior, Okada is in his element.

Image result for Kazuchika Okada entrance gif

The match starts off slow with a collar and elbow tie-up, Naito striking Okada in a clean break and spitting at the champion, showing nothing but contempt for the Rainmaker. Naito lands a series of forearms, flipping Okada over with a snapmare into a reverse chinlock, grinding away at Okada. The champion is able to find his footing and whips Naito to the ropes. Okada goes for a signature dropkick, but Naito holds onto the ropes, he knows Okada's games and won't fall for them. Naito capitalises and goes for a pinfall attempt, but only gets a 1 count. The Ungovernable One remains tranquilo as he rakes the eyes of Okada, to the admonishment of Red Shoes. Naito is unphased and quickly gains speed, hitting a basement dropkick to the champion's head.

Running%2BFront%2BLow%2BDropkick%2B1.gif

The crowd cheer for their chosen champion's dismantlement of Okada, slowly getting to his feet, as he must stag tranquilo, pressing his boot to Okada's head with little care.

Pressing%2BStomp.gif

Naito lifts Okada to his feet and tries to grip for a suplex, but Okada blocks and sinks an elbow to the challenger's midsection. Naito pushes away and runs at Okada, only to be countered into an arm-drag, Okada. Naito tries again but is met with another arm-drag from the champion, who points to the turnbuckle as the crowd mildly cheer. They respect Okada's talent, but they're here for only one man. Okada climbs the corner and lands his signature elbow drop from the top, only getting a two count.

M8.gif

Okada is undeterred as he pulls Naito up for a crisp neckbreaker. Okada follows up with a series of grounded knees to the head and stomps. The champion then pulls up Naito by his gear and lands a nasty german suplex, dumping Naito right on his neck.

M10.gif

The crowd begin to rally behind Naito who groggily gets to his feet, countering a strike from Okada by throwing him into the corner. Naito then jump to the apron and sweeps the leg, followed by a lovely slingshot dropkick, the Cabron Combination!

Naito's rhythm of sudden speed increases is proving effective against the champion. Naito pulls him up and lands a german suplex of his own, rolling though into a bridging dragon suplex, but only gets a 2 count. Naito climbs the turnbuckles as the crowd gasp.

He hasn't done the Stardust Press in a long time, not since the old Naito was here, The Stardust Genius. He pauses and contemplates doing the move that betrayed him so long ago, but decides against it, slowly getting down from the top rope. However, in his delay, Okada has recovered, and goes for an early Rainmaker attempt while Naito's back is turned! But Naito dodges and pulls down Okada's neck onto his knee. The challenger does for another basement dropkick as the match's pace picks up, but Okada slides out of the way, grabbing Naito and hoisting over his shoulders for his own reverse neckbreaker.

C2.gif

Okada rallies and lifts Naito for the Tombstone Piledriver, but Naito counters into a wheelbarrow roll-up.

Wheelbarrow%2BRoll-Up%2BPinfall.gif

1...2...kick out! Okada dodges a big swing from Naito as he hits the ropes, and he dodges Okada's back elbow. However, it was a misdirection, as Okada lands his picture perfect dropkick when Naito rebounds!

M17.gif

The Tokyo Dome crowd is absolutely electric, event in the massive space. Okada gets up and motions for the Rainmaker! Okada pulls Naito up, ripcord on the arm, but Naito switches and tries to hit a rainmaker of his own! Okada counters and tries again, but Naito pulls on Okada's arm into a forearm, Okada maintains wrist control and counters another Rainmaker attempt from Naito, gaining control and finally lifting up Naito into the Tombstone Piledriver!

M20.gif

Okada grabs Naito's wrist once again, and slams Naito with a clothesline into the ground, still maintaining wrist control as he now sets up for the full Rainmaker to put his long-time nemesis away for good. Okada ripcords and winds up for the lariat, but Naito grabs his arm and is about to hit the Destino! But Okada blocks and is about to hit another Tombstone! But Naito fights out of it, both men moving towards the ropes as Naito gains the upper hand with a Springboard Tornado DDT!

Springboard%2BTornado%2BDDT.gif

Naito is cooking now, he lifts up Okada into an Inverted Atomic Drop, then into another long forgotten move, the Pluma Blanca submission!! Okada has only tapped out to one person since his return, could this be the second time!

Okada is being stretched and choked out by Naito, who sticks out his tongue at the champion squirming in the submssion hold. It looks like Naito has the champion dead to rites, but Okada manages to get his long legs to the ropes, breaking the hold.

Naito gets to his feet and pulls up the barely cognisant Okada with him, pulling back on the arm to hit the Destino, but Okada blocks again, trying to hit a desperation Rainmaker, Naito counters with a boot to the face, only for Okada to rally with his fire and intensity in the face of such opposition. There is only one move that can put away Kazuchika Okada, and Naito knows it, this move has and will never betray him. The Stardust Genius is dead. Naito boots him in the face again, then switches into position...and....

Tag Team Match
Shota Umino and Yuji Nagata vs. Ren Narita and Toa Henare - Like both of the Young Lions here but what breaks the tie here is that I really can't see Henare beating Nagata so Yuji wins.

6-Man Tag Team Match
Roppongi 3K (SHO, YOH and Rocky Romero) vs. Suzuki-gun (TAKA Michinoku, Taichi and Zack Sabre Jr.) I think giving the champs a win here works. Plenty of time to establish new contenders later.

8-Man Tag Team Match
Juice Robinson, David Finlay, Togi Makabe and Michael Elgin vs. Bullet Club (Hangman Page, Marty Scurll, Kenny Omega and Chase Owens) Going with the other team. I like the ideia of either Juice or Elgin pinning Omega for a potential future US Title shot.

Tag Team Match
Chaos (Will Ospreay and Gedo) vs. Los Ingobernables de Japon (Hiromu Takahashi and BUSHI) Takahashi pins Ospreay putting himself next in line, before of course going to do the FantasticaMania Tour (Which you probably won't book but we can imagine him doing some great bouts with Dragon Lee during it)

NEVER Openweight 6-Man Tag Team Championship Match
Bullet Club (Bad Luck Fale, Tama Tonga and Tanga Loa) (c) vs. Chaos (Toru Yano, YOSHI-HASHI and Beretta) I feel the champs need to retain here so we keep building these as actually credible titles.

Tag Team Match
Hiroshi Tanahashi and KUSHIDA vs. Suzuki-gun (Minoru Suzuki and El Desperado) A victory for Suzuki-Gun with Minoru Suzuki pinning Tanahashi setting up a match between both down the line for the IC Title

Main Event: Over the Top Rope Elimination 6-Man Tag Team Match
Chaos (Kazuchika Okada, Tomohiro Ishii and Hirooki Goto) vs. Los Ingobernables de Japon (Tetsuya Naito, EVIL and SANADA) - Naito ends up as the sole survivor only for a certain someone to perhaps assault him?

First of all can I say. This diary needs attention, that is probably one of, if not the best fully written show I have seen on the forums. Absolute amazing work, you took a guy who hasn't seen any NJPW, and actually made me feel like I was invested into that final match. I seriously can't express how much I loved this. Keep it up man!!!

Match OTN: Naito vs Okada

Superstar OTN: Omega

Moment OTN: The entirety of that opening bout.

New Year Dash!!

January 5th 2018, Korakuen Hall, Tokyo, Japan

Image result for NJPW New Year Dash!! Logo

It's the night after Wrestle Kingdom 12, and the Korakuen faithful are eagerly awaiting the 2018 edition of New Year Dash!!

Tag Team Match
Yuji Nagata and Shota Umino vs. Toa Henare and Ren Narita

Shota Umino runs to the ring followed by Blue Justice, Yuji Nagata. Followed by Ren Narita, displaying some intense Young Lion fire, matched by Toa Henare, who does the Haka as he stomps to the ring.

The Match kicks off with the two Young Lions, both regarded as two of the brightest prospects in the New Japan Dojo. Narita and Umino lock up in the middle of the ring, with Umino taking the early advantage. Based on their body structures, Shota has put on more mass than Narita, giving him the power advantage. As Young Lions, it's difficult to foresee their future directions from their clean slates of simple black gear, but it is evident that Narita has the build of a Junior Heavyweight, while Umino seems to be going down the path of a Heavyweight.

Umino seemingly allows for a clean break, but then hits Narita with a slap to the face, egging him on to fire back. Narita grows visibly frustrated as he lunges forward, only for Shota to counter into a grounded waistlock. Narita jockeys for position and manages to escape, transitioning into a fujiwara armbar, but Umino gets to the ropes. Narita taunts Umino to come at him, and Umino fires with a series of forearms, throwing Narita into his corner and tagging to the veteran, Yuji Nagata.

Nagata steps in and lights up Narita with a series of shoot kicks to the midsection, he then runs the ropes and drops the poor rookie with a vicious big boot.

Nagata goes for the pin, but Narita kicks out at two. Nagata picks up the Young Lion, who tries to rally with his fighting spirit, landing chops and forearms to Nagata, but the former-IWGP Champion shrugs them off, delivering a thunderous chop of his own, sending Narita back to his corner, tagging in Toa Henare.

Henare is full of fire as he runs in and shoulder blocks Nagata, who stands his ground, demanding more from Henare. The Islander runs the ropes and collides with the Veteran again, but to no avail. He tries again, but Nagata gets the better of it, whipping Henare into the corner. Nagata is about to keep up the offensive, but Henare charges up with a huge running tackle, slamming Nagata to the mat. Both men are down.

The Korakuen crowd claps for both teams, as Narita and Umino are calling for the tag, Nagata and Henare crawl to their corners, and they're both in! The Young Lions run into the ring, laying in some stiff forearms and strikes, surprisingly with Narita getting the upper hand. Narita tries to sweep the legs, but Umino kicks him away, causing Narita to fall to the mat. Shota sees his opportunity, and locks in a deep boston crab!! Will Narita tap?

Related image

He tries to crawl to the ropes, but Shota pulls him back to the centre of the ring, the crowd gasping and cheering on Narita to fight out of it. Shota then sits even deeper into the submission hold, Narita is straining in pain at the immense pressure being applies to his lower back. Fortunately for him, Henare runs in and chops Shota across the chest, but what's this? Shota isn't backing down, he's still got the boston crab applied! Henare chops him again with more force, but Shota isn't budging. Henare scoffs and decides to just lift up Shota from the hold, hitting a ring-shaking spinebuster before returning to the corner, calling for the recovering Narita to make the tag.

A groggy Umino stumbles to the corner and tags in Nagata, who sprints across the ring and boots Henare off the apron. He then grabs Narita on the mat and quickly applies the Nagata Lock III, a Crossface/Scissored Armbar combination! Narita stuggles in the hold, and has no choice but to tap.

Nagata and Umino raise their hands in victory, with Umino taunting down to the hunched over Narita, who is being led out of the ring by the other Young Lions at ringside, holding an ice pack the small of his back and neck.

6-Man Tag Team Match
Roppongi 3K (SHO, YOH and Rocky Romero) vs. Suzuki-gun (TAKA Michnoku, Taichi and Zack Sabre Jr.)

Suzuki-gun are first out to the ring, with Taichi lip-syncing to his own theme song. His theme cuts off to that of ZSJ, who pops his collar in the ring, while usually, TAKA Michinoku takes a microphone in the ring.

"Welcome to ZACK SABRE TIME!"
"Korakuen Hall, Suzuki-gun vs. Roppongi 3K of Chaos, who is gonna win?....Who is gonna win!? It's gonna be this man right here, HE IS SUBMISSION MASTER, HE IS Z! S! J, HE IS, ZACK SABRE JUNIOR!!!!"

The Korakuen Crowd are a little taken aback by this new role for TAKA, but are receptive, even with a few cheers in the audience amongst the scattered applause.

"Roppongi 3K, Come over Here!" TAKA drops the mic as the whirling techno music of Roppongi 3K plays, the crowd cheering loudly as the Junior Heavyweight Champions enter the ring.

The match kicks off with Taichi and YOH, they lock up but Taichi immediately stomps on YOH's knee, followed by two kicks to the side. YOH manages to block a third kick, and attempts to lift up Taichi for a Falcon Arrow, but gets reversed, Taichi sinking in a rear chinlock. Taichi grinds his forearm into YOH's face as he pulls him to the Suzuki-gun corner, tagging to TAKA. Taichi and TAKA hit a snapmare on YOH followed by a buzzaw kick from Taichi, conclued with a double elbow drop combination. TAKA lifts up YOH and smirks as he blatantly pokes YOH in the eyes, and stomping on his foot. TAKA bounces off the ropes for a clothesline, but YOH spins out of the way, hitting a clothesline of his own. He crawls over to his corner and tagging in the other half of the tag team champions, SHO. They double team TAKA with a nice Drop Toe Hold/Dropkick combination.

SHO continues the attack and lifts up TAKA with brute force into a deadlift german suplex! TAKA flies back and flails his hands to tag in ZSJ. SHO takes a step back as the Submission Master enters the ring. SHO fires up and runs in to hit a single leg dropkick, but Zack is able to block the attack and reverse into a cringe-inducing ankle hold.

Related image

Zack goes to town with his domineering british style, transitioning from ankle hold, to STF, to armbar, to a bit of everything. SHO is groaning in pain as he tries to reach the ropes, but ZSJ is ever vigilant, locking in a Cobra Twist as SHO tries to stand, stretching away at SHO's midsection as he falls back to the mat.

The crowd rallies behind SHO as he eventually, mercifully reaches the ropes. Sabre looks undeterred as he grabs SHO's leg and drags him back to the middle of the ring, but as he goes to stretch his opponent again, SHO catches him in a roll up! 1....2...No! Zack counters into his own! 1...2...No! SHO rolls through into a jacknife pin! 1...2..No! Zack escapes and with his snake-like movements, morphs into a Crucifix pin! 1...2...No! SHO kicks out as both men get up, SHO landing a massive lariat onto Zack who stumbles into the ropes. This buys just enough time for SHO to tag in Rocky Romero, who comes flying in with forearms and clotheslines.

Rocky whips Zack into the corner, and Rocky follows up with his Forever Clotheslines combo, running back and forth, hitting about 5 or 6 clotheslines as the crowd goes crazy for it. Rocky is about to hit a seventh, but Zack ducks and switches position, locking in a painful armbar on Romero. Rocky rushes to the ropes, only for Zack to rattle him with a European Uppercut, tagging in Taichi once again. Taichi smirks and poses in the corner as Rocky shakily gets to his feet, only to he rattles by a superkick clean on the jaw! Taichi lifts up Rocky's body and hoists him over his shoulder, hitting the devastating Black Mephisto!!

After the match, TAKA and Taichi forcibly grab the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championships from the timekeepers area and hold them above their heads, staking their claim to the titles before dumping them with reckless abandon on Rocky's unconscious form. SHO and YOH attend to their mentor after Taichi and TAKA leave the ring.

8-Man Tag Team Match
Hontai (Juice Robinson, David Finlay, Togi Makabe and Michael Elgin) vs. Bullet Club (Hangman Page, Cody, Marty Scurll and Chase Owens)

First out is the Hontai team of Robinson, Finlay, Makabe and Elgin. Juice saunters to the ring with Finlay, with the big lads of Makabe and Elgin shortly behind them.

After them is the Bullet Club team, with Chase and Hangman out first, followed by the crow-masked form of the Former-IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion, Marty Scurll. And finally the IWGP United States Champion, Kenny Omega, full of bravado and swagger after defeating Chris Jericho the night previous.

The match kicks off with Michael Elgin and Marty Scurll. The size difference is quite apparent, especially when Marty tries to bodyslam Elgin, but to no avail as Elgin effortlessly lifts the Villain into his own bodyslam. Elgin chops Scull before giving him a big hip toss across the ring.

Hip%2BToss.gif

Scurll winces and gets to his feet, only to be lifted up into a stalling suplex from Big Mike, crashing down and bouncing off the mat. Elgin drags Scrull to the corner and tags in Finlay, who runs in and clatters Marty with a European Uppercut in the corner, tagging in to Juice.

Juice Robinson lays in some jabs with the chants of "Juice! Juice! Juice!", however, Scurll finally gets some offence as he catches one of the jabs, and snaps Juice's fingers with a loud clap.

Snapping%2BOpponent%2527s%2BFingers.gif

This gives Scurll the opening to tag in to Hangman Page, who quickly jumps into the ring, walloping Juice with a forearm, followed by a snap suplex. He goes for a quick pin attempt but Juice kicks out. Hangman kneels down and lands some nasty grounded elbows to a prone Juice, bring him back up and over to the Bullet Club corner, tagging in Chase Owens. Chase and Hangman stomp Juice in the corner before landing a double suplex on the Flamboyant one. Juice cringes at the pain, with Chase going over to him, trying to grab him for a neckbreaker, but Juice blocks it. Juice turns and lands a Left Hand of God against Juice, sending him stumbling across the ring and bouncing off the ropes. Juice starts firing up and tries to land another one, but Chase counters into a backslide, followed by a boot right to the face of Robinson.

Chase tries for a superkick, but Juice dodges out of the way and hit's his Leg Lariat, downing the Crown Jewel of Bullet Club.

Juice makes the hot tag to Togi Makabe, while Chase tags back out to Hangman Page. Makabe enters and lays in a combination of punches against Hangman, whipping him into the corner. Makabe climbs the ropes and smirks as he lays in some corner punches, the crowd counting along. Makabe laughs heartily before climbing back down, hitting a Northern Lights Suplex on Hangman, with a bridge, but only gets a two count.

Makabe tries to lift Hangman for a vertical suplex, but gets countered as Hangman tries to hit the Rite of Passage on the larger Makabe, but he can't quite lift him. Makabe flips him off and hits a big punch, sending Hangman down and to his corner, making a quick tag to Kenny Omega. Meanwhile, Elgin calls out to Makabe for the tag. The crowd explode at a potential Omega/Elgin face off. Makabe begrudgingly obliges and tags in Big Mike.

He and Omega have a short stare down before they start trading strikes in the middle of the ring. Elgin levels the US Champion with a particularly stiff chop, leaving a noticeable red mark on Omega's chest. Kenny grunts and runs the ropes, trying to hit an early V-Trigger Knee, but gets caught by Elgin who lifts him up with ease, and suplexes him across the ring!

Omega spats against the mat as Elgin picks him up and tries to hit the Elgin Bomb on the US Champion! However, mid rotation Omega tries to counter into a Poison-Rana, but through sheer power, Elgin hold him in place! Scurll tries to make a save but get's kicked down by Elgin, who then hits an Inverted Alabama Slam with Omega onto Scurll!!

Omega clutches his midsection and desperately makes the tag to Chase Owens. Chase runs in and lands a superkick against Big Mike. The rest of the Hontai team run around the ring to occupy Bullet Club, David Finlay hitting a huge train of running European Uppercuts at ringside as Chase tries to gain advantage, but Elgin hits him with an Enziguri, then lifting him up into a massive Elgin Bomb! 1...2....3! Elgin picks up the victory!

After the match, Elgin and walks over and stares down with Omega, looking and pointing at the IWGP United States Championship. The Korakuen crowd cheer at the potential title match that could be coming up very soon on the New Beginning Tour.

As the Hontai team leave through the curtain, someone else makes their way out to meet Bullet Club, it's Switchblade Jay White. He enters the ring with a sly smile on his face and mutters something to a cautious Omega. The US Champion's expression remains skeptical, his frown remaining as Jay White holds out his hand for a handshake. After a long pause, Omega goes to shake his hand, but then withdraws and exits the ring with his Bullet Club allies, leaving the Switchblade hanging. Jay White chuckles to himself and exits the ring. What could this mean?

Tag Team Match
Chaos (Will Ospreay and Gedo) vs. Los Ingobernables de Japon (Hiromu Takahashi and BUSHI)

The next tag match begins with the new IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion, Will Ospreay and Hiromu Takahashi in the ring, with Gedo and BUSHI on the apron for their respective teams. They have an unusual respect for each other, agreeing to shake each other's hands before locking up. The Aerial Assassin switches to a side headlock as they reach the ropes, pushing Hiromu across the ring, sliding under followed by a leapfrog, a switch reversal and Hiromu ducking a clothesline attempt.

An enraged BUSHI kicks Gedo in the gut and performs a snapmare, applying a chinlock, grabbing Gedo's beard, much to the referee's admonishment.

Gedo stumbles over and tags Ospreay back in, who jumps over the ropes into the ring, lighting up the Jet Black Death Mask with a series of strong kicks, followed by a handspring enziguri!

NEVER Openweight Championship Match
Bullet Club (Tama Tonga, Tanga Loa and bad Luck Fale) (c) vs. Chaos (Toru Yano, Beretta and YOSHI-HASHI)

Out first is the Chaos team of Toru Yano, who shows off his DVDs and T-shirts before spitting out a spurt of water, followed by Beretta, a talented foreign talent with a lot of potential. Lastly is YOSHI-HASHI, who is sporting some much improved gear, no staff, as well as a mouthguard and trimmed hair, he's looking far more serious than his previous self.

Next is the champions, the Tongan contingent of Bullet Club. The Guerrillas of Destiny, Tama Tonga and Tanga Loa, followed by "The Underboss" Bad Luck Fale, the largest man on the NJPW roster.

The match kicks off with YOSHI-HASHI and Tama Tonga. They start with a collar-and-elbow tie up, with YOSHI-HASHI able to get Tama Tonga into a side headlock takeover. Surprisingly, YOSHI-HASHI is digging in with his holds more so than previously seen. He's also grinding the elbow into Tama Tonga's head. He eventually brings Tama Tonga up to a standing position, only spin him around with a suplex transitioned down into a neckbreaker called the Bunker Buster. The crowd cheer at this pleasant surprise of YOSHI-HASHI showing some fire and intensity.

Tama Tonga clutches his neck and swears profusely at the pain, slowly standing up as YOSHI-HASHI whips him into the Chaos corner, tagging in Beretta. Beretta attacks Tama Tonga energetically with a flurry of strikes at a lightning pace, whipping The Bad Boy into another corner, hitting him with a running dropkick. He goes for the pin, Tonga kicks out.

He lifts up his opponents, but Tonga counters and slaps Beretta across the face, sliding around the ring and connecting with a neckbreaker. He goes for the pin, but Beretta kicks out at 1. Tonga tags out to Tanga Loa, and they hit a double team DDT on Beretta. Tanga Loa mounts Beretta and wails on him with punches, each one more vicious than the last.

Loa lifts up his opponent and shakes the ring with a thudding Powerslam.

He goes for the pin, but Beretta kicks out again. Beretta manages to fight off another slam attempt and tag in to Yano as the crowd pop loud.

Yano manages to fake out the 6-Man Champion by throwing the turnbuckle to him, then quickly rolling him up! 1...2...Kick out! Tanga Loa fumbles his way over to the corner with a smirk as he tags in the big man, Bad Luck Fale.

He and Yano have a comical staredown, as Yano does his signature shrug pose. However, someone taps him on the shoulder, it's Tama Tonga! Yano jumps in surprise as Tama Tonga and Fale start beating down on Yano.

Tag Team Match
Hiroshi Tanahashi and KUSHIDA vs. Minoru Suzuki and El Desperado

The Korakuen crowd clap along in both admiration and fear as Minoru Suzuki enters the ring, shouting "Kaze Ni Nare" in time with his theme, El Desperado flying the Suzuki-gun flag on the turnbuckles. Following them is the Hontai team of the Ace and the IWGP Intercontinental Champion, Hiroshi Tanahashi, and how many consider the Ace of the Jr. Division, KUSHIDA.

The match kicks off with the two Junior Heavyweights, KUSHIDA working for a hammerlock, and countering Desperado's attempts to escape through technical means. Eventually, Despy is able to break the hold with a series of back elbows.

Back%2BElbows.gif

Despy rakes the eyes of KUSHIDA and whips him into the ropes, but KUSHIDA counters and performs a handspring back elbow, knocking El Desperado down. KUSHIDA wastes no time as positions to apply the Hoverboard Lock, but Despy wriggles out and stomps on KUSHIDA, dragging him to the corner and tagging in his mentor. Suzuki smirks and enters the ring, laying in some loud shoot kicks to KUSHIDA's midsection, knocking the Jr. Heavyweight down. Suzuki then seamlessly applies a vicious Heel Hook on KUSHIDA, staring at Tanahashi on the apron the entire time with his sadistic grin.

KUSHIDA screams in agony while furiously crawling to the ropes. Suzuki lets go of the hold and surprisingly doesn't follow up, gesturing for Tanahashi to come and get a taste. The crowd audibly gasp at this challenge. Tanahashi stares at Suzuki, before tagging with KUSHIDA and entering the ring, going nose to nose with the Sadist of Pro Wrestling.

Tanahashi and Suzuki start wailing on eachother with stiff forearms as the crowd goes nuts for this throwback pairing, duking it out in the ring one more time. Suzuki sticks his tongue out at Tanahashi before clocking him with an elbow strike across the face. Like a snake, Suzuki then applies a sleeper hold on The Ace, locking it in tight.

Suzuki then tries to transition to the devastating heel hook while Tanahashi is dazed, but the Ace manages to escape and tries to lock in his own submission, the Texas Cloverhold on Suzuki!

Minoru Suzuki crawls to the ropes, but Tana pulls him back into the ring! Suzuki is straining at the pain as El Desperado comes in with a chair, about to hit Tanahashi across the back, but KUSHIDA runs in and blocks him, hitting him with a german suplex, following Despy out of the ring and brawling around ringside.

Suzuki uses the distraction to his advantage as he escapes the Cloverhold and kicks Tana's knee with brutality. Suzuki picks up the chair and starts wailing on Tana's leg, forcing Red Shoes to call for the DQ.

Suzuki continues the relentless assault with the chair, only stopping to lock in the heel hook on Tanahashi, who screams in pain, but Suzuki refuses to let go. All the young lions that are usually observing from ringside rush in to pull Suzuki off of the Ace. They manage to separate the two, but Suzuki beats up the poor rookies with strikes and chair shots before exiting the arena.

The young lions and KUSHIDA assist Tanahashi and help him to the back.

Main Event: Over the Top Ropes Elimination 6-Man Tag Team Match
Chaos (Kazuchika Okada, Tomohiro Ishii and Hirooki Goto) vs. Los Ingobernables de Japon (Tetsuya Naito, EVIL and SANADA)

Here is is, the main event. First out is the team of LIJ. The familiar tones of Naito's music fills Korakuen as the crowd's chants and claps for their beloved champion grow deafening.

Usually, the new IWGP Heavyweight Champion, Tetsuya Naito, comes out first, followed by the new IWGP Tag Team Champions, EVIL and SANADA.

Next out is the Chaos trio of Okada, Ishii and Goto. Okada looks noticeably sullen from last night, his seat at the top of Wrestle Kingdom is now contested by the Ingovernable One.

The match kicks off with the champion, Tetsuya Naito getting bull rushed by a very energetic Tomohiro Ishii. The Stone Pitbull rains in some big chops onto the champion and bounces off the ropes to shoulder block Naito to the mat. The crowd cheer loudly, Ishii isn't playing any games here.

Ishii lifts up Naito into a suplex, slamming him down onto the mat. Naito clutches his neck as Ishii lays in some kicks to Naito's back, shouting for the champion to bring it! Tomohiro Ishii is unfazed by the champion! Ishii did defeat Naito in the G1, and Naito overcoming Ishii at King of Pro Wrestling, it seems as though both wrestlers, and the crowd want to see the rubber match! Naito counters another suplex attempt into a body slam.

Naito spits at Ishii before laying in some hard-hitting forearm strikes to the Stone Pitbull. He picks up Ishii and whips him into the ropes, but Ishii counters with a whip of his own. The two wrestlers end up scuffling in a rough, but intense lock up, both men trying to shove the other over the top rope. Naito gets Ishii into a front facelock, pulling over the top rope with him, both of them now teetering on the apron, their teammates watching on.

Naito kicks Ishii in the leg, only to be met with a chop from Ishii. Naito rallies and moves around to hit a dragon suplex Ishii off the apron! If he can't win, neither of them can! However, Ishii bites down on the top rope to say on the apron!

Naito thumps a forearm into the back of Ishii's head, getting back onto the apron next to his opponent. Both men stare down for a moment only to both try and headbutt each other! Ishii and Naito fall from the apron to the mat!

Tomohiro Ishii and Tetsuya Naito are both eliminated in 5:32

All four surviving wrestlers in the match watch on in bewilderment as Ishii and Naito just start brawling at ringside, continuing through the curtain to disappear backstage!

EVIL and Goto step into the ring as the next legal men. EVIL holds up his hands for a test of strength with the NEVER Openweight Champion, with Goto obliging. Both men jocky for position as they try to overpower the other, with Goto seemingly getting the advantage, slipping EVIL into a side headlock. To the crowd's surprise, it looks like Goto will go for a very early GTR, but it gets countered and EVIL tries to hit his finisher, "Everything is Evil". Goto slips out of the move and both men collide with meaty lariats, neither man willing to give up. EVIL runs off the ropes again and hits Goto with a roaring elbow, but the Fierce Warrior stays standing.

Goto responds with a lariat counter of his own when EVIL tries for another shoulder block, knocking him down.

Road to New Beginning Tour Show Highlights

While his tenuous relationship with Bullet Club is sill in flux, Jay White pinned David Finlay with the Blade Runner in a multi-man tag team match while teaming with Yujiro Takahashi and Kenny Omega. He attempted to "too-sweet" with Omega after the match, but was left in the ring.

Following the match in the backstage interview area, Switchblade was confronted by Juice Robinson. Juice expressed his desire to face Jay in a match, as retribution for him beating his tag partner, David Finlay. Jay smirks, oozing egotism and accepts, only to blindside Juice as they go to shake hands. Switchblade attacks and stomps on Juice's left hand, leaving him to be helped away by the young lions.
