NBA FINALS RESULTS

Image result for lebron james giannis lakers vs bucks

NBA Finals:
Western Conference Champions #1 Los Angeles Lakers (12-7 in playoffs)
vs
Eastern Conference Champions #3 Milwaukee Bucks (12-4 in playoffs)

Games 1 and 2 would belong to the Bucks, as they would shock the world and take the games at Staples Center behind Giannis Antetokounmpo averaging 58 points (48, 69) over the two games. The world would be sent into shock as it appeared LeBron James would once again be swept out of the NBA Finals, this time by an up-and-coming star much like himself in 2007.

In Game 3, LeBron James would respond, taking the task of guarding Giannis and holding The Greek Freak to a series low 17 points on 5-13 shooting. Game 4, with the momentum shifting, would be the game of the role players as JaVale McGee totalled 21 points and 10 rebounds, while Rajon Rondo added 11&11. Despite a great game from Giannis, none of the Bucks' role players stepped up, leaving him on an island by himself, as they lost the game, 114-100.

With the series now 2-2, both teams felt the immense pressure heading into Staples Center. But the result was there all along. All season, the Lakers went 36-5 at home in the regular season, and now, potentially their biggest home game of the season, they would defeat the Bucks in the lowest scoring affair of the series, 88-79. LeBron James and Victor Oladipo would combine for 58 of the 88 points, carrying the Lakers to a 3-2 series lead and potential to put the Bucks away.

And in the biggest game of the series, Giannis would go cold, just mustering 10 points as co-star Khris Middleton put up the 27 points, leading the team. Unfortunately, without their star doing his usual work, the Bucks would fall to the Lakers behind 36 points, 7 rebounds, and 14 assists from the King, clinching his 4th NBA Championship in Milwaukee, as the Lakers win series, 4-2.

LAKERS WIN SERIES 4-2

Finals MVP: LeBron James (37.7 pts, 8.8 rebounds, 9.3 assists, 53% shooting, 42% 3PT)

Untitled-design-1-1.png

PREDICTIONS:

Lakers vs Bucks: How Many Games? 6
Finals MVP? LeBron James
Top PPG Scorer in Series? LeBron James
What do LeBron James and Victor Oladipo average together? (Combined PPG) 63.5
What do Giannis & Eric Bledsoe average together? (Combined PPG) 46.8

PREDICTIONS WINNER IS... A TIE BETWEEN SMITH AND ROPATI!

Ropati had the closest average to LBJ/Dipo, Smith ahd closest average to Bledsoe/Giannis.

So they will both decide a superstar's fate, will he be traded or will he stay with his team?

2019-2020 NBA Roster Overviews: Part 1 of 6
September 1st, 2019

I went through the offseason pretty quickly and got lost in it, so I'm gonna recap the 2k20 rosters that will be used for season two in 6 parts, recapping a division, what changes teams made, their starting five, their projected rotation and all that fun stuff and I'll end it off with a power-rankings to begin the season when the game drops on September 6th.

Division One: Atlantic Division
Teams: Boston Celtics, Brooklyn Nets, Philadelphia 76ers, New York Knicks, Toronto Raptors

Image result for celtics kyrie and jaylen

Boston Celtics
Last Season: 42-40, missed playoffs

The Boston Celtics pulled off one of the biggest moves in the NBA this offseason, as they and Golden State agreed to a sign and trade, sending Jayson Tatum and Gordon Hayward to Golden State for Kevin Durant, who agreed to a 1+1 contract. In the draft, the Celtics would use their 9th and 14th overall draft picks to trade up to #4, to select Duke G/F Cam Reddish. Kyrie Irving, following suit, would accept a 1+1 as well, before they would rope in their good friend, DeAndre Jordan who replaced Al Horford as Horford walked. Other moves, like bringing back IT4 on a bench role, signing Rondae Hollis-Jefferson, would complete the team's role players as they ended up with a final roster of:

Starting Five
Kyrie Irving | Jaylen Brown | Kevin Durant | Rondae Hollis-Jefferson | DeAndre Jordan

Bench
Aron Baynes | Isaiah Thomas | Cam Reddish | Daniel Theis | Taj Gibson | Amir Johnson | Gerald Green | Thabo Sefolosha | Abdel Nader

Brooklyn Nets
Last Season: 4th in the East, lost first round
One of the more exciting teams, the Brooklyn Nets resigned breakout guard D'Angelo Russell and elected to build around their current talent. In the draft, they added Darius Bazley out of college, while in free agency, with their starting five set, they added depth with Derrick Favors and George Hill, in addition to the starting lineup. The Nets look to build on their turning point year and finish even better in the East this year.

Starting Five:
D'Angelo Russell | Marcus Smart | Joe Harris | Julius Randle | Jarrett Allen

Bench:
Derrick Favors | Caris LeVert | Tristan Thompson | George Hill | Rodney McGruder | Darius Bazley | Isaiah Whitehead | Khyri Thomas | Marcus Georges-Hunt | Caleb Swanigan

New York Knicks
Last Season: 13th in East, 27-55
With the 3rd best odds in the draft, New York jumped up to #2, just shy of prize draftee Zion Williamson. The Knicks would take picks in the future, trying to take on bad contracts to inherit assets, as owner James Dolan quickly realized the pipedream of landing Kyrie and KD was gone. With the second pick, the Knicks chose Ja Morant over RJ Barrett, opting in on Morant as their future.

Starting Five:
Ja Morant | Austin Rivers | Larry Nance Jr. | Jabari Parker | John Henson

Bench:
Tomas Satoransky | Evan Turner | Damyean Dotson | Lonnie Walker IV | Kyle Anderson | Michael Porter Jr. | Trey Lyles | Gorgui Dieng | Emannuel Mudiay

Philadelphia 76ers
Last Season: 2nd in the East, 51-31, lost first round

After losing to the Detroit Pistons in the first round, the 76ers faced many questions. Would they change things up, with the Simmons/Embiid duo clearly not working? By the end of free agency, we had our answer, as the Phildelphia 76ers agreed to a trade with the Los Angeles Clippers, sending Simmons to LA for Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Robert Covington, Miles Bridges. This trade would then translate just a week later, as the 76ers sent the first round pick they received in the deal to Cleveland, along with Dario Saric and Rui Hachimura, for Kevin Love, giving Philly a makeover as they went all-in around building around Joel Embiid.

Starting Five
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander | Robert Covington | Tobias Harris | Kevin Love | Joel Embiid

Bench:
JJ Redick | JaMychal Green | Shabazz Napier | Mikal Bridges | Miles Bridges | Furkan Korkmaz | Zach Collins | Christ Koumadje | Marial Shayok

Image result for kyle lowry demar derozan

Toronto Raptors: 57-25
Last Season: 1st in the East, lost in Eastern Conference Finals

With Jimmy Butler's departure, the Raptors finally decided it was time to blow it up. But with such large contracts, DeRozan and Lowry were virtually untradable. Serge Ibaka was sent to the Suns, to mentor Marvin Bagley III, while JaVale McGee was signed away from the Lakers to fill the role of shot-blocker. Committed to rebuilding around Pascal Siakam, the Raptors took a chance, trading for former #1 overall pick Andrew Wiggins, bringing him home to his country of Canada. Can Wiggins revive his career in Toronto? The upcoming season will tell, and it will let us know if DeRozan and Lowry are on the outskirts of Canada with one year left on their deals.

Starting Five
Kyle Lowry | DeMar DeRozan | Andrew Wiggins | Pascal Siakam | JaVale McGee

Bench
Fred VanVleet | Joffrey Lauvergne | OG Anunoby | CJ Miles | Johnathan Motley | Kevin Porter Jr. | Brad Wanamaker | Malachi Richardson | Edmond Sumner |Treveon Graham | Wade Baldwin

2019-2020 NBA Roster Overviews: Part 2 of 5
September 1st, 2019

I went through the offseason pretty quickly and got lost in it, so I'm gonna recap the 2k20 rosters that will be used for season two in 6 parts, recapping a division, what changes teams made, their starting five, their projected rotation and all that fun stuff and I'll end it off with a power-rankings to begin the season when the game drops on September 6th.

Division One: Atlantic Division
Teams: Chicago Bulls, Cleveland Cavaliers, Milwaukee Bucks, Indiana Pacers, Detroit Pistons

Image result for anthony davis paul george

Chicago Bulls
Last Season: 46-36, lost second round

After landing Anthony Davis in a blockbuster trade at the trade deadline, the Bulls quickly went to work, acquiring Paul George from the Thunder for Zach LaVine, Chandler Hutchinson, Brandon Clarke (26th pick), and 3 first round picks (2020, 2022, 2024). With PG13 and AD ready to lead Chicago back to the finals, they brought in hometown hero Patrick Beverley, along with keeping Kris Dunn, solidifying their backcourt. The last piece of the puzzle, DeMarcus Cousins agreed to a 1 year, 3.5 million dollar contract after the market for Cousins wasn't what it seemed to be following a disappointing playoffs with Milwaukee.

Starting Five
Patrick Beverley | Denzel Valentine | Paul George | Anthony Davis | DeMarcus Cousins

Bench
Dion Waiters | Kris Dunn | Ed Davis | Markieff Morris | Doug McDermott | Mo Wagner | Mirza Teletovic | Robin Lopez | Omer Asik | Jacob Wiley

Cleveland Cavaliers
Last season: 29-53, 11th in the East, Missed Playoffs

After losing LeBron James, it was clearly a rebuild in the cards for the Cavaliers, who ended up with the 8th and 14th picks following Kevin Love's trade to Philadelphia. The Cavaliers managed to select Coby White from UNC, and Rui Hachimura to add to a solid core of Dario Saric, Mo Bamba, and Cedi Osman, presumably the Cavaliers' starting five next year.

Starting Five:
Coby White | Cedi Osman | Rui Hachimura | Dario Saric | Mo Bamba

Bench:
Tim Hardaway Jr. | Andre Roberson | Alex Len | Frank Kaminsky | Cory Joseph | Iman Shumpert | Bismack Biyombo | Tony Snell | Lance Stephenson | Allen Crabbe | Deividas Sirvydis

Image result for giannis antetokounmpo eric bledsoe malcolm brogdon khris middleton

Milwaukee Bucks
Last Season: 3rd in East, 51-31, lost in NBA Finals

After a 6 game loss to the Lakers in the NBA Finals, the Bucks' priorities were keeping Bledsoe, Brodgon, and Khris Middleton after their contributions to the Bucks run to the finals. Eric Bledsoe would sign a four year, ninety million dollar contract to remain with the team, Middleton (4yr/75m), and then Brodgon would ink last, at 5yr/72.5m. After Cousins departure, the Bucks would use their MLE and remaining cap space to sign Willie Cauley-Stein (3yr, 37m) and Darren Collison (3yr, 22m) as depth adds as the Bucks look even more dangerous than last year heading into the 2019-2020 season.

Starting Five:
Eric Bledsoe | Malcolm Brodgon | Khris Middleton | Giannis Antetokounmpo | Willie Cauley-Stein

Bench:
Darren Collison | Mike Scott | Tyler Zeller | Jeremy Lin | JR Smith | Chuma Okeke | Thon Maker | Cory Gadson | DJ Wilson | Frank Jackson

Image result for indiana pacers myles turner

Indiana Pacers
Last Season: 27-55, 13th in East, missed Playoffs

With the 7th pick in the draft, the Indiana Pacers made a questionable choice, selecting Matisse Thybulle, who was projected in the 15-20 range, not 7th overall. But nonetheless, he fills a need of a winger who can defend and will slot in nicely between Wayne Ellington and Kyle Kuzma at the 3. The Pacers also replaced Darren Collison, with Jeff Teague, added stretch 4 Davis Bertans (and 2 firsts in a trade for Domantas Sabonis, clearing up the Kuzma/Sabonis/Turner problem), and gave Jahlil Okafor a chance as their backup big.

Starting Five
Brandon Ingram | Wayne Ellington | Matisse Thybulle | Kyle Kuzma | Myles Turner

Bench:
Jeff Teague | Davis Bertans | Jahlil Okafor | Marshon Brooks | Rodney Hood | Al Jefferson | TJ Leaf | Ike Anigbogu | Luol Deng | Caleb Martin

Detroit Pistons
Last Season: 43-39, lost in second round, 7th in East

The Pistons overachieved last year, or found a formula for success. One of the two, and we'll find out which one it was this year. Blake Griffin and Andre Drummond have one last year to prove to every that they can work together, and they have the best supporting cast around them ever. A revitalized Derrick Rose (19.5 PPG on 47/38/93 PER 36 MINUTES), Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, lockdown defender MKG, 6th man of the year candidate Reggie Jackson, the Pistons must show that they can compete and do better than the 7th seed after their shocking upset of Philadelphia last year.

Starting Five
Derrick Rose | Kentavious Caldwell-Pope | Michael Kidd-Gilchrist | Blake Griffin | Andre Drummond

Bench
Reggie Jackson | Jon Leuer | Stanley Johnson | James Ennis | Nerlens Noel | Ivica Zubac | Jordan Poole | Henry Ellenson | Ben McLemore

SOUTHEAST DIVISION: MIAMI, WASHINGTON, ORLANDO, ATLANTA, AND CHARLOTTE!

Charlotte Hornets
Last Season: 28-54, 13th in East, missed Playoffs

After winning the draft lottery, it was clear to everyone where Zion Williamson was leaving Duke for: Not very far, Charlotte, North Carolina. Almost immediately after the Draft Lottery, Woj reported that Kemba Walker intended to stay in Charlotte on a 5 year deal, following the results of the lottery. Now, with Kemba Walker and Zion Williamson pairing up, along with young talent like Malik Monk and Kevin Knox, Charlotte suddenly looks like a potential lower-playoff seed.

Starting Five
Kemba Walker | Jeremy Lamb | Kevin Knox | Zion Williamson | Willy Hernangomez

Bench
Trevor Booker | Seth Curry | Malik Monk | Norman Powell | Marvin Williams | Dwayne Bacon | Nene | Nazreon Reid | Admiral Schofield | Travis Wear

Miami Heat
Last season: 23-59, 15th in East, missed playoffs

After Dwayne Wade retired, the Miami Heat were left without a face of the franchise for the first time in years. They wasted little time, though, opting to trade their 4th pick, Josh Richardson, Tyler Johnson, Goran Dragic, their 2023 first and Dion Waiters (who would later land with the Bulls) to the Thunder for Russell Westbrook and Steven Adams. They wouldn't stop there, as in free agency, the Westbrook trade created enough cap to sign Jimmy Butler, and transform this team into a modern-day version of the Bad Boy Pistons.

Starting Five:
Russell Westbrook | Avery Bradley | Jimmy Butler | Al-Farouq Aminu | Steven Adams

Bench:
Bam Adebayo | Alec Burks | Tyler Dorsey | Ersan Ilysova | Justin Holiday | Tony Allen | Raymond Felton | Sean Kilpatrick

Image result for luka doncic magic

Orlando Magic
Last Season: 38-44, 10th in the East

Luka Doncic lit it up as a rookie, and only looks to continue the momentum into his second season after his 15ppg, 9r, 7a averages. The Magic's top priority would come in center Nikola Vucevic, who would resign on a 4 year, 109 million dollar contract. Terrence Ross would resign on a 3yr, 30 million dollar contract, as with their 11th pick, they selected Romeo Langford out of Indiana. The Magic have placed a bet on their youth, but will it pay out the same?

Starting Five:
Luka Doncic | Evan Fournier | Jonathan Issac | Aaron Gordon | Nikola Vucevic

Bench:
Terrence Ross | Mason Plumlee | Romeo Langford | Wesley Iwundu | Trevor Ariza | DJ Augustin | Jonathon Simmons | Jevon Carter | Anfernee Simons

Image result for trae young atlanta hawks

Atlanta Hawks
Last Season: 43-39, 6th in the East, lost first round

After a surprising playoff run in which they took the eventual Eastern Conference Champion Bucks to 7, the Hawks elected to make small changes, like using their draft pick to select versatile forward Cam Johnson, bringing in sharpshooters Reggie Bullock, and Nemanja Bjelica and developing Robert Williams III, and Jerome Robinson. Expect the Hawks to potentially drop out of the playoffs with the team talent in the conference being raised.

Starting Five:
Trae Young | Jerome Robinson | Reggie Bullock | John Collins | Jonas Valanciunas

Bench:
Cody Zeller | Delon Wright | Robert Williams III | Cam Johnson | Nemanja Bjelica | Timofey Mozgov | Langston Galloway | Ryan Anderson | Keita Bates-Diop | Wesley Matthews

Image result for jamal murray gary harris

Washington Wizards
Last Season: 42-40, 8th in the East, lost first round

After John Wall would go down injured, the Wizards would elect it was finally time to rebuild and trade Bradley Beal. And they did, getting themselves a new young backcourt in Gary Harris and Jamal Murray from the Denver Nuggets to add to Otto Porter Jr., Sekou Doumbouya, and Mitchell Robinson. Bench pieces like Terry Rozier III, and Richaun Holmes were added and now the biggest question with the Wizards is when in February, what will the Wizards do with John Wall's return?

Starting Five:
Jamal Murray | Gary Harris | Otto Porter Jr. | Sekou Doumbouya | Mitchell Robinson

Bench:
Terry Rozier III | Richaun Holmes | Kelly Oubre Jr. | Corey Brewer | Mfiondu Kabengele | Ian Mahinmi | John Wall (INJURED) | Zhou Qi | Jawun Evans

2019-2020 NBA Roster Overviews: Part 3 of 5
September 1st, 2019

I went through the offseason pretty quickly and got lost in it, so I'm gonna recap the 2k20 rosters that will be used for season two in 6 parts, recapping a division, what changes teams made, their starting five, their projected rotation and all that fun stuff and I'll end it off with a power-rankings to begin the season when the game drops on September 6th.

Division: Southwest
Teams: Memphis Grizzlies, Dallas Mavericks, San Antonio Spurs, Houston Rockets, New Orleans Pelicans

Image result for james harden rockets

Houston Rockets
Last Season: 56-26, 4th in the West, lost first round

After a disappointing campaign, the Rockets put everyone up on the block besides James Harden. One four team trade later, and Chris Paul was on the way to Minnesota, and Danilo Gallinari, TJ Warren, and Derrick White were on the way to the Rockets. With returnees like PJ Tucker and Eric Gordon, and fully allowing James Harden to operate the offense with shooters all around him, the Rockets may have found a formula for success if Harden can get hot.

Starting Five
Derrick White | James Harden | TJ Warren | Danilo Gallinari | Clint Capela

Bench
Eric Gordon | PJ Tucker | Jeff Green | Boban Marjanovic | Ron Baker | Pat Connaughton | Lucas Nogueira | Cameron Payne | Marcus Thornton | Joel Bolomboy

Image result for kristaps porzingis dallas

Dallas Mavericks
Last Season: 28-54, 13th in the West, missed playoffs

The Dallas Mavericks had an exciting core to build around heading into the offseason: Dennis Smith Jr., Kristaps Porzingis, and DeAndre Ayton. Landing the number #3 pick in the draft, the Mavericks took the third out of the big 3 in this years' draft, RJ Barrett to add to their already promising core. After acquiring Justice Winslow from the Heat, it was clear that they were going all in on the young core. Expect the Mavericks to potentially rise up to the 10th spot in the West this year, but I don't think a playoff position is likely this year.

Starting Five:
Dennis Smith Jr. | RJ Barrett | Harrison Barnes | Kristaps Porzingis | DeAndre Ayton

Bench:
Justice Winslow | Elfrid Payton | Dwight Powell | Alan Williams | Kosta Koufos | Brandon Knight | Troy Brown Jr. | Rodions Kurucs | Tacko Fall

Image result for jrue holiday

New Orleans Pelicans
Last Season: 15th in East, 24-58, missed playoffs

After the Anthony Davis trade, the Pelicans faltered, finishing 15th in the West. Unfortunately for them though, despite having the 3rd best odds, they fell to 5th in the draft and selected G/F Jarrett Culver to add to their Sexton/Holiday/Markkanen core. Adding to that starting lineup would be Enes Kanter, as the Pelicans look to improve on that 24 win season. Could they go from last to potentially a playoff birth?

Starting Five:
Colin Sexton | Jrue Holiday | Jarrett Culver | Lauri Markkanen | Enes Kanter

Bench:
Nikola Mirotic | Ricky Rubio | Willie Reed | Soloman Hill | Cole Aldrich | Nassir Little | Josh Okogie | Matthew Dellavedova | David Nwaba

Image result for cj mccollum jusuf nurkic

San Antonio Spurs
Last Season: 46-36, 6th in the West, lost first round

After the breakout season of CJ McCollum, the Spurs continued to add to their young core, trading for Domantas Sabonis from Indiana, having a potential LaMarcus Aldridge replacement for when the big man's contract is up. Other than that, the Spurs really kept it in house other than drafting Grant Williams and continuing to develop Kevin Huerter.

Starting Five
Dejounte Murray | CJ McCollum | Glenn Robinson III | LaMarcus Aldridge | Jusuf Nurkic

Bench:
Domantas Sabonis | Luke Kennard | Patrick Mills | Quinn Cook | Kyle O'Quinn | Kevin Huerter | Grant Williams | Milos Teodosic | Frank Mason | Kezie Okpala

Image result for jaren jackson jr

Memphis Grizzlies
Last Season: 24-58, 14th in West, missed Playoffs

The Memphis Grizzlies have a building block in Jaren Jackson Jr., and potentially added their PG of the future in Spencer Dinwiddie. In the draft, with the fourth overall pick, the Grizzlies selected De'Andre Hunter out of Virginia. The average age of this Grizzlies team is a whopping 23, so it will be up to Head Coach Monty Williams to make sure the Grizzlies do what's needed to continue their development.

Starting Five
Spencer Dinwiddie | Grayson Allen | De'Andre Hunter | Jaren Jackson Jr. | Ante Zizic

Bench
Dillion Brooks | Yogi Ferrell | Dante Exum | Andrew Harrison | Noah Vonleh | Chandler Parsons | Deyonta Davis | Ivan Rabb | Le'Bryan Nash | Keldon Johnson | Maxi Kleber

NEXT DIVISION: NORTHWEST (JAZZ, TIMBERWOLVES, TRAIL BLAZERS, THUNDER, NUGGETS)

2019-2020 NBA Roster Overviews: Part 4 of 4
September 1st, 2019

I went through the offseason pretty quickly and got lost in it, so I'm gonna recap the 2k20 rosters that will be used for season two in 6 parts, recapping a division, what changes teams made, their starting five, their projected rotation and all that fun stuff and I'll end it off with a power-rankings to begin the season when the game drops on September 6th.

Division: Northwest
Teams: Minnesota Timberwolves, Utah Jazz, Denver Nuggets, Oklahoma City Thunder, Portland Trail Blazers

Image result for karl anthony towns

Minnesota Timberwolves
Last Season: 40-42, 8th in the West

The Timberwolves would be faced with an ultimatum by franchise player Karl Anthony-Towns, get him some talent to work with or he would walk this offseason. The Timberwolves would scramble, piecing together a four-team trade to land Chris Paul in Minnesota with KAT. But it wouldn't stop there, as KAT recruited his former Kentucky Wildcat, Devin Booker out of Phoenix and to Minnesota, creating a nice blend in styles and a big 3 ready to rock the league.

Starting Five:
Chris Paul | Devin Booker | Taurean Prince | Luc Mbah a Moute | Karl Anthony-Towns

Bench:
Aaron Holiday | Tyler Herro | Luka Samanic | Ekpe Udoh | Zaire Smith | Shabazz Muhammad | Omri Casspi | Khem Birch |Mindaugas Kuzminskas

Image result for donovan mitchell mike conley rudy gobert bojan bogdanovic

Utah Jazz
Last Season: 41-41, 7th in the West, lost first round

The Utah Jazz had an exciting big 3, of Mike Conley Jr., Donovan Mitchell, and Rudy Gobert to build around in the summer after Conley pushed him to a playoff appearance, where they lost to the Portland Trail Blazers. In free agency, the Jazz made a big splash in signing Indiana foward Bojan Bogdanovic to a 3 year, 44.6 million dollar contract. Some depth signings like Thaddeus Young, Trey Burke, and Kenneth Faried completed a terrific summer for Utah and put them high on some people's radars for next season.

Starting Five:
Mike Conley Jr. | Donovan Mitchell | Bojan Bogdanovic | Thaddeus Young | Rudy Gobert

Bench:
Jae Crowder | Joe Ingles | Trey Burke | Kenneth Faried | Tarik Black | Shelvin Mack | Jordan Crawfoord | Skal Labissiere | Ish Smith | Alize Johnson

Denver Nuggets
Last Season: 33-49, 10th in the West, missed playoffs

After a disappointing season, in which Nikola Jokic missed time to injury and the Nuggets folded without him, the Nuggets looked to rebuild. Feeling their time is coming up, they cashed in, striking a deal with Washington for Bradley Beal, in exchange for their young backcourt of Jamal Murray and Gary Harris among other things. Suprisingly, due to injury concerns, guard Darius Garland fell to the Nuggets at 10 in the draft and they didn't hesitate to take the guard out of Vanderbilt, virtually replacing Murray/Harris with Garland/Beal.

Starting Five:
Darius Garland | Bradley Beal | Will Barton | Paul Millsap | Nikola Jokic

Bench:
Malik Beasley | Bobby Portis | Shaun Livingston | Tyson Chandler | Jacob Evans III | Darius Miller | Juan Hernangomez | Mike Muscala | Kyle Collingsworth | Sterling Brown | Troy Daniels | Guerschon Yabusele

Image result for zach lavine

Oklahoma City Thunder
Last Season: 56-26, 5th in the West, lost second round

The youth movement is on in Oklahoma City, as the Thunder have traded away their stars in Paul George and Russell Westbrook. With many veterans who could contribute on many teams, look for the Thunder to be active in the trade market, moving names like Olynyk, Whiteside, Johnson, Dragic, if a team comes calling. Otherwise, it's time to build around the core they have secured this offseason.

Starting Five:
Markelle Fultz | Zach LaVine | Josh Richardson | Jerami Grant | Jaxson Hayes

Bench:
Hassan Whiteside | Kelly Olynyk | James Johnson | Tyreke Evans | Tyus Jones | Goran Dragic | Chandler Hutchison | Brandon Clarke | Lagerald Vick | Terrance Ferguson

Image result for kawhi leonard damian lillard

Portland Trail Blazers
Last Season: 60-22, 2nd in West, lost Western Conference Finals

The Trail Blazers did what they needed to do this offseason. Resign Kawhi Leonard, who grew to like Rip City for it's small market and quietness about it, something Kawhi values closely. Priority number two was bringing back Danny Green and Brook Lopez, and Portland did just that. And they restocked the bench, snagging a potential 6MOTY candidate in Jordan Clarkson, along with versatile wings in Bryn Forbes and DeMarre Carroll, as Portland looks to try and finally reach the NBA Finals after failure last year.

Starting Five:
Damian Lillard | Danny Green | Kawhi Leonard | Mo Harkless | Brook Lopez

Bench:
Jordan Clarkson | Demarre Carroll | Bryn Forbes | Marcin Gortat | Jonas Jerebko | Raul Neto | Alexis Ajinca | JJ Barea

Sacramento Kings
Last Season: 29-53, 12th in the West, missed playoffs

Despite a 29 win season, the future looks bright in Sactown. Building around Fox, Hield, Carter Jr., the Kings made the best move they could, bringing in veteran Al Horford to mentor the young talent. Horford could be the piece missing, to return Sacramento to the playoffs with Hield and Fox manning the backcourt, could we see a return to playoffs for Sac-Town?

Starting Five:
De'Aaron Fox | Buddy Hield | Bogdan Bogdanovic | Wendell Carter Jr. | Al Horford

Bench:
Rudy Gay | Harry Giles | Justin Jackson | Royce O'Neale | Donte Divncenzo | Omari Spellman | Elie Okobo | Rashad Vaughn | Joakim Noah | Georges Niang | Talen Horton-Tucker

Los Angeles Clippers
Last Season: 38-44, 9th in West, missed playoffs

The Clippers made one of the biggest trades of the summer, securing their future in Ben Simmons, along with 60 million in cap space for the 2020 free agency. The Clippers, under Jerry West, are planning the long game, and they just got their prized possession in Ben Simmons. With a lineup of shooters around him, Simmons could potentially see his best season yet.

Starting Five:

Phoenix Suns
Last Season: 38-44, 10th in the West

The Suns are officially Marvin Bagley's team after Devin Booker split town. The Suns will undoubtedly be bad, but they have some talent. They signed unproven point guard Monte Morris to man their point guard position, along with trading for Serge Ibaka and continuing the development of Josh Jackson. Carmelo Anthony provides the bench scoring for this team, as the Suns look to develop an identity.

Starting Five:
Monte Morris | E'Twaun Moore | Josh Jackson | Marvin Bagley III | Serge Ibaka

Golden State Warriors
Last Season: 57-25, 3rd in West, lost second round

Everyone said that the Warriors were done following their loss to Portland, saying the dynasty is over. Kevin Durant left, but in return? Golden State received young star Jayson Tatum, and a former all-star Gordon Hayward from Boston, getting major compensation for Kevin Durant's departure. Now, the Warriors have reloaded after resigning Dwight Howard, and look to redeem themselves after last year.

Starting Five:
Stephen Curry | Klay Thompson | Jayson Tatum | Draymond Green | Dwight Howard

Los Angeles Lakers
Last Season: 63-19, 1st in the West, won NBA Finals

The champions started off the offseason with a bang, trading Elie Okobo, Omari Spellman to the Kings, virtually giving up on their 2018 draft picks to win for now. The move cleared an extra 3 million in cap, giving the Lakers 32 million to work with. What would they do with this cap space? Marc Gasol would ink his contract for 2 years, 32 million, while Marcus Morris Sr. would elect to join his Klutch Sports friend on the Lakers on a 3 year, 30 million dollar contract. With the 28th pick in the draft, the Lakers would select overseas center Goga Bitadze, and with their MLE, they would add versatile wing Kent Bazemore, adding to their bench and replacing Thaddeus Young and JaVale McGee.

Starting Five:
Lonzo Ball | Victor Oladipo | LeBron James | Marcus Morris Sr. | Marc Gasol

Bench:
Montrezl Harrell | Kent Bazemore | Landry Shamet | Josh Hart | Goga Bitadze | Dorian Finney-Smith | Rajon Rondo | Alex Caruso | Jared Dudley

Lebron James and the Lakers begin season 4-2, ahead of a potential Finals matchup with the Chicago Bulls:

Image result for lebron james marc gasol

A thrilling Battle of Los Angeles, in which neither team missed a beat, looking in midseason form, the new-look Clippers would push the title-defending Lakers in a close contest. After all, the Lakers would pick up the win, 145-136, behind a breath-taking 17th season opening performance from LeBron James, at 35 points/8rebounds/8assists, along with great games from his supporting cast, as Dipo (28 points, 9 rebounds), Zo (17 points, 7 assists), Montrzel Harrell (15 points, 15rebounds), and newcomer Marc Gasol (22 points, 12 rebounds). For the Clippers, Louis Williams balled out alongside Simmons as a starter, totalling 39 points, while Simmons nearly topped LeBron's effort at 35 points, 10 rebounds, and 7 assists.

In game two, the Lakers would face a Jazz team, and whether it was chemistry issues, the Jazz came out flat against the Lakers, and were trailing by a whopping 33 points by halftime, behind electric play from Victor Oladipo (32 points, 4-5 3PT), and by the start of the fourth quarter, it was a 41 point lead. The Jazz outscored the Lakers by 17 (17!) in the fourth quarter, but still came up short 135-111, showing how dominant the Lakers are.

The third game, a primetime NBA game, would be on ESPN as it marked the first game between LeBron James and Zion Williamson, at Staples Center. LeBron James would act more of a decoy this game, attempting just 12 shots while it would be Montrezl Harrell (24 points, 15 rebounds), Marc Gasol (21 points, 14 rebounds), and Victor Oladipo (22 points, 6 steals) leading the team to victory, 107-89. Despite a 3-0 start, the Lakers would fall in Memphis, despite LeBron James' best efforts and drop to 3-1 (32 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists).

With the Chicago Bulls on the horozion, the Lakers would respond to the loss with another loss to Dallas, before rebounding against San Antonio, both by double-digit margins as the league continued to take note of this deep team, with everyone on the Lakers able to find their own shot. Meanwhile, in Chicago, their stiffling defense was killing teams. As the first six games drew to a close, the Lakers stood 4-2 and facing two very good contenders in the East.

Bulls dominate defending champion Lakers 115-96:

United Airlines Arena, Chicago

A potential NBA Finals Matchup between the Los Angeles Lakers and Chicago Bulls would ensue, as Patrick Beverley-Dion Waiters-Paul George-Anthony Davis-DeMarcus Cousins would begin the game for the Bulls. Lonzo Ball-Victor Oladipo-LeBron James-Marcus Morris Sr-Marc Gasol would begin the game for the Lakers, as the two clashed in the first quarter, going at it with this arguably being the biggest NBA game so far. At the end of Q1, Chicago would lead 27-24, behind a sizzling start for Paul George (15pt, 6-6 shooting).

In the second, Chicago would begin to take control, extending their lead to 11 points at halftime, but in the third, the Lakers would begin to comeback, trimming the lead to 2 points going into the fourth. But in the fourth, Chicago would dominate, with the Lakers collapsing. The Bulls would outscore the Lakers by seventeen, and win the game by 119, dropping the Lakers to 5-2 and putting the Bulls at 7-1.

Leading Scorers: Paul George (37) - CHI, LeBron James (29) - LAL
Leading Rebounders: Ed Davis (16) - CHI, Marc Gasol (14) - LAL
Leading Assists: Beverley/Waiters (4) - CHI, LeBron/Lonzo (4) - LAL

Lakers struggle to begin season, sit 5th in West at 6-5:

Image result for lebron james hand on face

November 16th, 2019

The Lakers would struggle, dropping games to Miami and Toronto, dropping to 4-5. With the team struggling, Coach Dwane Casey would make it known the team is just adjusting with new pieces and expected them to rebound with three division rivals up next in Phoenix, Golden State, and Sacramento. And rebound they would, winning over Phoenix and Golden State, but in the Golden State game, LeBron James would suffer a high-ankle sprain, and would be ruled out for two weeks. With games like the Spurs looming, they should hope The King is back soon.

3 things to watch for in Lakers vs Hawks

Image result for lebron james trae young

November 17th, 2019

The Lakers, standing now at 7-5, will host the Atlanta Hawks (6-6) in the Staples Center tonight. Here's three things to look for during Lakers/Hawks.

Trae Young's Brilliance

Image result for trae young gif

The second year point guard has been amazing to begin this season. Despite his scoring numbers dropping (25.1 last year, 23.8 this year), the pointguard has flashed his playmaking skills, increasing his assists by nearly 3 (4.9 last year, 7.1 this year), and the emergence of his backcourt partner, Jerome Robinson (12.1 points, 48% from 3). The Hawks have relied on the foursome of Young, Robinson, John Collins, and Jonas Valanciunas, and so far, it's worked.

How will the LeBron-less Lakers work:

Image result for lebron james injured

The loss of LeBron James is a big one. Despite his nearly career-lows in stats this year, these are LeBron's Lakers. How will they work without the King at the helm, leading them? With several veterans in Marc Gasol, Jared Dudley, and Marcus Morris Sr., it doesn't seem like the Lakers will lose any leadership, but losing the best player in the league always hurts.

Is Victor Oladipo still reliable as a first option?:

Image result for victor oladipo 3pt

With the Lakers going 5-12 in games without LeBron last year, it has led people to believe that Victor Oladipo can no longer be reliable as a first option. Now, with LeBron out at-least the next five games, Oladipo has a chance to right last season's wrongs and show everyone they were wrong in their assessment. Can he do it? We'll see.

Los Angeles Lakers: Showtime
Season 2: Title Defense
Episode 3

After the Hawks dominated the Lakers 127-112, the Lakers, without their leader would be refocused in by Rajon Rondo, who, with LeBron James out', would have to step into a rotation spot, something he previously didn't occupy. Rondo's leadership would be shown as a few nights later, the Lakers defeated the Thunder 115-104, behind Victor Oladipo's 32 points. Another win over OKC, in OKC a few nights later would push the Lakers to 9-6.

In Memphis, the unthinkable almost happened. Victor Oladipo shot 6-17. Marc Gasol, 6-16 (0-7 from 3), Montrezl Harrell 4-10. The Lakers were off and it showed, as DeAndre Hunter dropped 23 and 9 on Marcus Morris Sr. Fortunately enough, Victor Oladipo found the bucket with a left handed layup to put Los Angeles up 93-92 with 7 seconds. A timeout later, the ball went to DeAndre Hunter, who iso'd on Kent Bazemore, took a fadeaway jumper as the buzzer rang... And missed, giving the Lakers a tough-fought win in Memphis.

Record: 10-6

Next Game: @ SAS (12-5)

3 teams who could potentially dethrone the
NBA Champion
Los Angeles Lakers:

Image result for kevin durant

Boston Celtics (13-3), 1st in East

The Celtics are playing fantastic, winning 5 of 6 at home and 8 of 10 on the road. Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant have thrived next to each other, with Kyrie chipping in just under 25 a game (24.7), while Kevin Durant is averaging over 27 points for the first time since 2016. The Celtics have a deep team, with two players off the bench who can regularly generate their own shot (IT4 & Cam Reddish), and with the fourth best offensive and defensive rating in the NBA, this team is playing amazing on both sides of the ball. General Manager Danny Ainge went all in, and early results tell us that that was the correct decision.

Image result for kawhi leonard

Portland Trail Blazers (14-4), 1st in West

The Portland Trail Blazers, fresh off of a Western Conference Finals loss, have 7 people shooting above 45% from the 3pt line, giving them a team full of shooters, plus the duo that set the Warriors' dynasty on fire and burned it down last season at the helm. Portland is coming for Los Angeles' crown after in the offseason, LeBron James mentioned that the Portland series was "very exhausting".

Image result for anthony davis

Chicago Bulls (13-5), 2nd in the West

After doing the unthinkable last season, and swinging a deal for superstar Anthony Davis, the Bulls followed it up this summer by making itself a contender with the additions of Patrick Beverley, Paul George, and DeMarcus Cousins. There has been some adjustments to such a stacked frontcourt, hence the drop in Davis' numbers (18 & 9 averages), but they should raise as the season goes on. With a perfect secondary scorer in Dion Waiters, and a menacing defense, Chicago vs Boston could end up being the Eastern Conference Finals.

Slow Starts:

Ben Dover
November 25th, 2019

Golden State Warriors (7-10): The Warriors have started slow for many reasons. Hayward starting over Tatum is a joke, and Steve Kerr needs to be ashamed of himself. And now, with both of Golden State's point guards injured, Kerr has transitioned to Andre Iguodala starting there. This stretch of 15 games or so could determine how the Warriors fare this year. It's a possibility the 3x champs miss the playoffs with how alarmingly bad they're playing right now.

Milwaukee Bucks (8-9): The Bucks started slow, then made the NBA Finals and lost in 7 last year, so we might be overreacting. Giannis' PPG has dropped to 23.1 this year, as teams have learned to let him shoot, and his field goal percentage is also down to 51%. Eric Bledsoe, after his career year, has dropped back down to the version we've seen for most of his career. Middleton has been a nice complementary piece, but there is no clear second star on this team and it's hurting the team. This team also misses Boogie Cousins severely, as a stretch big.

Philadelphia 76ers (7-10): The Philadelphia 76ers have started slow because this team, has no chemistry. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Mikal Bridges, Tobias Harris, Kevin Love, Joel Embiid. On paper, that's an amazing starting five but with Harris dropping from 20 points per game to 11.9 on 43/25/88 splits, the 76ers are undoubtedly dropping off because of him. Kevin Love, the veteran, has been even worse: Rebounds down from 9.9 to 8.7, 11.1 points on 29/25/95 splits. Harris and Love have to get on track, or this season will be over for the 76ers soon enough as a failed experiment.

Mavericks acquire John Wall from Wizards:

The rumors ran revamp all offseason about John Wall, as everyone knew once Bradley Beal was traded to Denver, the all-star PG would be moved as he makes his way back from a ruptured achilles. The question was who, and today, it was answered as the Mavericks have taken the chance on the former #1 pick, sending Justice Winslow, Dante Exum, Brandon Knight, and a 2020 first round pick for John Wall, who is expected to return in February. The potential Mavericks starting five could be:

John Wall - RJ Barrett - Harrison Barnes - Kristaps Porzingis - DeAndre Ayton

On paper, that appears to be a mid seed in the Western Conference. Two of the highest rated prospects the past two years, and two former all-stars. Whether this move was worth it, will be shown when Wall returns from injury...

New York Knicks acquire DeMar DeRozan
December 13th, 2019

The New York Knicks, despite being 4-22, have no intentions of tanking and that was shown today when they acquired DeMar DeRozan, to pair with young stud in Ja Morant. The Knicks will send Larry Nance Jr., and a 2021 first round pick (top-3 protected) to the North in the deal.

The move is somewhat surprising, considering the Raptors stand at 17-9, 3rd in the East but DeRozan became expendable as his numbers dipped (22.4 points to 16.6), and the revitalization of Andrew Wiggins career in Toronto (20.2 PPG, 6.1 rebounds, 47% FG [career high], 42% 3PT). DeRozan will most likely be a free agent at the end of the year with a weak free agency class coming. Can the Knicks turn their season around, and will the Raptors be able to keep up their success without DeRozan?

Los Angeles Lakers: Showtime
Season 2: Title Defense
Episode 6

Image result for victor oladipo pissed

December 30th, 2019

Victor Oladipo is reportedly unhappy in Los Angeles, as Marc Gasol and Lonzo Ball's offensive emergence have reduced his touches and is reportedly unhappy with the way Los Angeles is handling his contract extension, which he is eligble for this season. Oladipo reportedly feels he deserves the max after emerging as the clear 2nd best shooting guard in the league, behind James Harden. With averages of 20.6 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 1.5 steals while slashing 47/41/71 numbers, certainly gives him a case, and there will be many suitors if he is indeed dealt.

It is believed league-wide that the Warriors will be a major player, with the possibility to move Klay to the 3, and have a defensive starting five containing Oladipo, Klay, Draymond Green, and Dwight Howard. They believe that trading for Oladipo would put them into contention. A potential swap? Jayson Tatum?

Victor Oladipo traded to Warriors in five-team trade; Lakers receive Andre Iguodala, Buddy Hield, 2020 1st

News broke today that the Lakers have agreed to a trade with the Golden State Warriors that will send All-Star Guard Victor Oladipo to the Bay Area, for Pascal Siakam, Andre Iguodala and a 2023 first, which will go to Atlanta. Atlanta trades Wesley Matthews here, who will go to Chicago, while Chicago will send the Lakers a 2022 Top-3 Protected Pick, and Antonio Blakeney, while the Lakers send Jared Dudley to Chicago.

The full trade:

Los Angeles receives: Buddy Hield, Andre Iguodala, 2022 Chicago Top 3 Protected First Round, Antonio Blakeney, 2020 Unprotected Sacramento First Round

Chicago receives: Wesley Matthews, Jared Dudley

Atlanta Receives: 2023 GSW First Round, Dorian Finney-Smith

Golden State receives: Victor Oladipo, Alex Caruso

Sacramento Receives: Jayson Tatum

After signing Randolph nearly a week ago, he is traded to Toronto who forms a deadly scoring duo of Jayson Tatum and Andrew Wiggins, while giving the Lakers the player they coveted in Pascal Siakam.

Hield has struggled, posting 15.8 points on 37% shooting and 28% from 3. Despite these struggles, the Lakers have rode their newly found depth to a 7-2 record since, pushing to 26-16, good for 5th in the West. With the locker room issues gone, the Lakers now look to their first matchup with the Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant-led Boston Celtics this season... With them sitting at 34-7, the best record in the NBA.

Episode 7

January 20th, 2020

In a tightly contested game, the Lakers fell in Boston to the Celtics, losing by 9, 95-104. The game was tied heading into the fourth quarter, but with the Lakers starting beginning to lose their energy, all you have to do is look at the bench points (32 BOS - 10 LAL), to see why the Celtics ultimately prevailed. The Lakers now drop to 26-17, remaining 5th in the West while Boston continues to tote the NBA's best record at 35-7. Off the bench, despite an inefficent shooting night, Isaiah Thomas proved to be a crucial part, with him and Gerald Green combining for 21 points on 9-23 shooting.

Despite this loss, the Lakers would follow it up with a dominant victory over the 9-36 Knicks, winning 113-87 behind a 27, 12, and 7 performance from LeBron James, and a 5-5 shooting night for Josh Hart. On the second night of a back-to-back, now facing Brooklyn, the Lakers would indeed grind out a 110-103 win over the Nets, winning both games in New York ahead of another potential NBA finals matchup, as the Lakers travel to Philly to face the 76ers.
