WWF 2002

Post WrestleMania 18

We are in the Year 2002 and WrestleMania 18 has just happened. With the end of WM came the end of the Invasion. As WWF and Vince McMahon won back control of the company from Eric Bishoff  and WCW.

Lets recap the main points of the invasion before we get to WM.

At Summerslam we had the first ever Elimination Chamber Match for the vacant WWF Championship after Steve Austin went down with an Injury. The Undertaker would win that match eliminating Triple H last. But after the match The Outsiders Scott Hall and Kevin Nash invaded the WWF beating down Taker, HHH and The Rock to close the show.

The Next night Vince McMahon paired up HHH and The Rock to take on the Outsiders at Unforgiven. If the Outsiders lost they would leave the WWF. But at Unforgiven Triple H turned on The Rock and reunited with his Kliq brothers. With Triple H officially joining WCW. The Invasion began led by Shane McMahon, Stephanie and…. Eric Bishoff!

At No Mercy we saw the Rock beat Scott Hall. In the Main Event The Undertaker defeated Kurt Angle and Triple H when Austin returned and Stunner HHH. The Next night on RAW, Austin took on Triple H in the main event when the HULK HOGAN shows up and takes Out Austin. The NWO is officially back!

At Survivor Series we saw Goldberg defeat the Big Show. Ric Flair defeated Chris Benoit for the IC Championship. Scott Steiener defeated Eddie Guerrero for the European Championship. The Rock defeated Booker T for the World Heavyweight Championship.

In the Main Event. With control of the Company on the line. Team WCW led by The NWO, HHH and Sting! Defeated Team WWF led by Austin, Angle, Taker, Kane and Jericho. WCW is in control and Bishoff has fired Vince McMahon.

The next night on RAW. Bishoff strips The Rock and hans the WHC to Triple H. At Armageddon Goldberg defeated Kane. Kurt Angle defeated Triple H for the WHC. The Rock and Austin defeated Outsiders. Hulk Hogan defeated The Undertaker for the WWF Championship after Austin accidentally hit Undertaker with a chair.

At the Royal Rumble, Cactus Jack defeated Shane McMahon to keep his job or so he thought. Bishoff than came out and said he had 1 more match. Out came Goldberg who demolished Cactus Jack. Triple H won back the WHC from Angle and Hogan defeated The Undertaker to retain the WWF Championship after Goldberg interfered. In the Royal Rumble match where the lottery was completely rigged into WCWs favor. The Fina; 4 was Austin, The Rock, Scott Hall and Goldberg. Rock eliminated Hall but then HHH came in and eliminated the Rock. Austin would eliminate Goldberg and win the Royal Rumble.

At No Way Out, Goldberg and Sting defeated The Brothers of Destruction. Austin and Rock defeated the Outsiders for Austin to keep his WM spot and The Rock to earn a WHC Shot at Mania. HHH defeated Angle to retain World in the Main Event.

The next night, Vince McMahon returned and forced Bishoff with the help of WWF guys to put the company back on the line at WM. Whatever side wins most of the matches for the night takes power. Setting up WrestleMania 18!

My thoughts: It was on its way to being a great maybe the best WM of all time. The last 2 Matches tho disappointed me. Rock and HHH had a 100 rated match at Vengeance 2001 so this was a disappointment.  Austin and Hogan obviously a major disappointment. Angle and Flair tho with the Major 5 Star Classic you love to see it. Overall tho i think it was a Really Great Mania. That's the end of the Invasion. WWF won 6-5 and yes WCW blew a 5-2 Lead.
