The aftermath of the first episode of Smackdown after the Wrestlemania PPV, saw RAW superstar Sheamus appear on Smackdown to attack the newly drafted Daniel Bryan after Bryan’s win in tag team action against Bray Wyatt & Kevin Owens. Sheamus would appear unexpectedly and have a “Kendo Stick” in hand to assault Daniel Bryan with the weapon and also follow it up with a “Brogue Kick” and a “High Cross”, leaving Bryan laid out in the ring.

The rumours have been running high ever since this incident, will Sheamus be allowed to compete against Daniel Bryan at the Extreme Rules PPV despite the two being on seperate brands? It has been done in the past, at the very same event, Brock Lesnar versed Randy Orton for the WWE Championship despite Lesnar being drafted to RAW, but due to his rematch clause he was granted a rematch. However, no championship is on the line in this instance and the likely hood of this match happening is very slim according to RAW General Manager The Rock.
“There is no need for this match to happen” The Rock explained. “Honestly, Sheamus is better off focusing his talents on the true number one brand in Universe Mode and that is Monday Night RAW”. The Rock would also take a few shots at his former RAW superstar Daniel Bryan. “Daniel Bryan just couldn’t cut it here on RAW. He was never good enough to compete with the elite talent such as Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns, Bryan learned the hard way and he spent over a year trying to win the WWE Championship, when we all knew he was simply never good enough”.

But when asked about whether he would like to see Sheamus and Daniel Bryan have a match at Extreme Rules, Smackdown General Manager Edge had a different opinion. “Absolutely. Daniel Bryan is a huge name and I would love to see him get revenge on Sheamus after the attack. These two have been fighting eachother back and forth for weeks and something has to give otherwise they will tear eachother and both RAW and Smackdown apart until they get what they want.” Edge was willing to put his differences with RAW aside for the greater good of the fans as well. “I’m more than willing to let Daniel Bryan compete against Sheamus at Extreme Rules, I need Daniel Bryan focused on Smackdown and being one of our top stars and the only way that will happen is if he can move on from Sheamus. So at Extreme Rules I propose we have an Extreme Rules match between Daniel Bryan and Sheamus. I will try and talk to The Rock this week and see if we can work out a deal to make it happen”.
The likelyhood of this match happening seems slim, but Smackdown General Manager Edge is willing to try and make it work, so let’s hope he can convince The Rock so that Daniel Bryan and Sheamus can finally settle their differences at Extreme Rules.
