Seth Rollins
Seth Rollins has risen from a superstar in the making to the star of the show. He has won every championship that Monday Night RAW has to offer and arguably is one of the greatest superstars in Universe Mode history. He currently is the only superstar to have won the WWE Championship on two separate occasions, he is also a multiple time tag team champion with Roman Reigns as “The Shield” and also a United States Champion.
THE SHIELD
Seth Rollins’ Universe Mode career began as a member of the three man stable known as “The Shield”. The Shield immediately stormed onto the scene on Monday Night RAW as one of the most dominant tag teams in the WWE. It didn’t take Rollins long to win his first championship, he teamed up with Roman Reigns to defeat “3MB” at the Money in the Bank pay per view (Year One) for the WWE Tag Team Championship. This would be the beginning of their first championship reign that lasted 24 weeks and is still the single longest WWE Tag Team Championship reign to date.
The Shield would stumble and lose their tag team championships in a shock loss to the Prime Time Players at the Royal Rumble (Year Two). Many believed The Shield would split and go their separate ways after this loss, however the group was determined to win back their championships, which they successfully did just four weeks later at the Elimination Chamber (Year Two). Their second championship reign would last for a further nine weeks, ending to the Charisma Code at Extreme Rules (Year Two). The group would then split their separate ways, in pursuit for singles championships, stating that they had already accomplished everything that they set out to do in the tag team division and their next stages in their careers was a singles run.
EARLY SINGLES SUCCESS
After the split of “The Shield” Seth Rollins immediately sought after the United States Championship. His former Shield partner, Dean Ambrose had been seeking out the same championship for many months without any success and Rollins immediately surpassed him. Rollins was extremely impressive in his first few singles bouts and he managed to earn a United States Championship match at the Payback PPV. Seth Rollins challenged current champion Big E, Dolph Ziggler and Cesaro in a fatal four way match,in which he would successfully defeat all three superstars to win the United States Championship, his first singles title.
Seth Rollins would have a number of battles with superstars for the United States Championship, including against Dean Ambrose at Money in the Bank where Rollins set out to prove that he was the best member of The Shield. Rollins successfully defended his championship that night and would move onto Summerslam. It would be night where the biggest party of the Summer took place, that Rollins would lose his United States Champion. Dolph Ziggler finally accomplished his two year long goal of becoming a champion, by defeating Rollins for the title. Rollins however refused to have a rematch for the championship, instead deciding to pursue the WWE Championship.
FIRST WWE CHAMPIONSHIP RUN
Seth Rollins successfully defeated Chris Jericho to sneak into the WWE Championship match at Night of Champions. Rollins had defeated a number of the top superstars on RAW to force his way into the match. Rollins shocked the WWE Universe when he defeated three of the greatest superstars in Universe Mode history in one match. Seth Rollins put it down to the fact that the other three superstars were focused on their own personal rivalries with one another, because of this he was able to swoop in and capitalize on the situation and win the championship.
Rollins’ first test was perhaps the biggest of them all. At the Hell in a Cell PPV, he had to defend his championship against five others in a Hell in a Cell match. In an all star high caliber match, Rollins pulled out the unthinkable victory and was able to start his championship run with a huge statement. Rollins would go onto defeat Roman Reigns, Randy Orton and Daniel Bryan in singles competition, dominating the RAW locker room in the process. Rollins’ demise would come at the Elimination Chamber PPV where he would lose the championship in the chamber. He and Roman Reigns were the last remaining superstars in the match, however Rollins could not defeat his long term rival and former tag team partner. Thus, ending his dominant title reign just weeks before Wrestlemania.
Rollins would have a rematch for his championship at Wrestlemania against Royal Rumble winner Dean Ambrose and the champion Roman Reigns. Rollins came very close to winning however, Ambrose would walk away with the championship. Rollins was out of title contention and had to begin earning his way back into the title picture.
SECOND WWE CHAMPIONSHIP WIN
Rollins climbed back up to the top of the pecking order and would regain the WWE Championship on an episode of RAW after the Bragging Rights PPV.
